Honestly can't figure out why the car would make a whistling noise at 130+?

Park your Z in a hurricane and let us know if you still hear the whistling noise.

Pulllll freakin' eaaaseeee.

By they way, you shouldn't be going that fast and blah!

Ohhh sorry but I needed that

i've hit 140 going up 5north off the truck bypass (empty) and i didn't hear a whistling noise. maybe your CAI is letting air in somewhere. reinstall and see if that helps.

The Z is just a noisy car. I can definitely tell the difference after I have driven my daily for a while, 550i.

+1. Unless you are on a dedicated race track, that could be a fatal speed to drive at. Maybe not for your, but you pose serious threat to other innocent drivers on the street.

It's probably just the wind squeezing through tight spaces. It could be your mirrors, window seals, window wipers, or even the underbody panels if they're loose. I haven't heard any significant whistling in mine even at 145, just the engine and intake doing its thing. Keep in mind that I installed Valeo Ultimate wiper blades when I first got the car as the OEMs were trashed.

Yeah, when I hit anything after 80 and you can hear the wind seeping into the car.

I've done 150mph on a derestricted German motorway, ie legally. I can't remember the speed but at a certain speed the wind noise was quite loud, could this be the noise your hearing?
