Because of the shared platform with the G35 and the component sharing with other Nissan models, I suspect the Z will be around for a pretty long run (again).

Hey, if they would let me buy a APC and drive it legally on the streets... I would trade the Z and do it in a FLASH! :-)

Just so long as the sales don't drop to the point they drop the Z line again. I don't want to live in a world without Z's!

True, I have total respect for the original Humvee... The Humvee is an amazing vehicle. But the H2/H3 are products of marketing BS, and are a joke IMHO.

So true. I always think about the guy driving that obviously has to make up for his small Peni$ by buying a large, stupid brick to drive.

I knew the number was somewhere around 30,000 for 06... turned out to be lower than I expected.
This makes perfect sense though, of course the car companies would sell more of their affordable sedans geared towards the mass market rather then the niche sports car of the fleet.

Are you kidding me?! I hope and pray at every opportunity that Nissan discontinues the Z, that will make the resale value go up and possibly make the Z33 a collector's item like the MkIV Toyota Supra. Only good things can happen to current Z owners if Nissan pulled the plug.

So, all together now, let's send a message to Nissan (to the tune of that "cut that meat!" chant from Peyton Manning's Visa commercial): "DROP THE Z! DROP THE Z! DROP THE Z!"

Oh, and in a pinch, break the glass and use this chant: "Hey hey, ho ho, the Nissan Z has got to go, hey hey, ho ho, the Nissan Z has got to go..."

No, definitely keep the Z, just do major redesigns every 5-10 years.

20K miles/year, my car won't last forever, I don't want to have to go back to the late 90's when you couldn't get a brand new hot sports car(for a reasonable price).

When the Supra comes out, I wonder how much that will cut into the Z market.

Let's see - overall interest in the Z will drop; aftermarket will dry up; replacement parts become harder to obtain; no "upgrade" path.

Ummm, let's not chant that.

There was an article I posted from forbes maybe a month back about this. While it did say the 350Z is not their highest selling car, they did acknowledge that it is still doing well.

Some of you think the Z is such a great car, but you don't want other's to have that enjoyment nor for present day Z owners to have replacements or upgrades...all because it will make you more noticable or add a few bucks when you abandon the Z line. Sheesh!

this is understandable since the 350z is not a practical car to own for the average joe

1. its a sports car
2. its not great on gas
3. its a 2 seater
4. its low to the ground
5. extremely limited trunk space
