I was getting an oil change today and they said its going to be an hour wait, so like any z owner does while waiting, i immediatly head over to the z cars. I get over there and i take a look at the new hood and IMO i dont think its that bad at a couple of minutes looking at it from diff angels. But i can imagine when you get used to it the bump in the hood would more than likely dissipate. But of course i ask the sales guy for the keys so i can go and test drive, and he had the nerve to ask me "What For" (Note*he sold me my z so he knew i had one already but still any time you get an oppurtunity you take it Right!!!)The nerve of some people, but anyways i said why not????? so he got the keys and just sitting in it was like being in an 06' exept for the part of the dash where the gas tank buttons are is raised out a litle bit wich is cool IMO. so i starter up and the engine sounds like it has a little more growl, so i back it up and turn onto the street and flor it into 2nd then 3rd and i noticed that you can hear alot more air being sucked into the engine wich is cool since its dual intake now but besides that there is a little diffrence of corse from the 06. it pulls a little harder all the way from 1-4 ( it was a little road i was on so i didnt get past 4th) and its alot smoother shift than the my 06. So overall i like it alot but i still wouldnt trade my 06 in for the 07 due the fact tat its still a new design and after a intake lower plenum and an upper itake plenum im sure it would be just the same. But its cool to see the progresion that nissa is takeing.

yeah personally don't really mind the hood, a person that lives down the street from me just got one and seeing it in person it was not that bad. and that dual intake FTW

 

wait till you open it up on the highway...07>all other years on highway HARD! It will take a little more than a upper lower plenum to keep up...TRUST ME! As far as low end though..I think the 287 and HR are about the same

yeah i too was at a dealer and looked at 07. I really liked the new hood design. I think that new hood looks better making the z look more aggressive. BTW, was the transmission really smoother? I like my 06 tranny but I sometimes wish it's a little smoother.

 

The tranny engaged a little smoother, it seemed to catch no problem. But the power was there right away. It just wants to run

 

im nearly done paying for my 04 and think id rather go vortech and save the cash... the 07 looks sweet though,,,

 

07 is alright... id rather wait for something like a 3.7L

 

i agree. I liked the power diff but i am stickin with my 06 till the 3.7 or better

2008z is a litte Better than 2007 IMO!!!!

 

I bet the 2008 Z will have VVEL like the 2008 G and have around 320HP.

 

Of course the newer model is gonna be better than the older ones. Newer = better
