Oh really! Than explain my 273whp and my mods list in my sig............
I have on 06 Base and I'm currently saving money for a quaife LSD and 3.9 FD.
I bought the base because I didn't really need cruise control or TCS. I got a base for 26K with airbags, and a few other options I wanted. The enthusiast would have cost me 29K+ if I'd gotten all the same options for. $3K I can get a better LSD and spend a little more to get the 3.9 FD at the same time. My .02cents. In the mean time I've been driving the car and the lack of limited slip hasn't resulted in anything horrible.

my car is 06 base and as you can see my sig, there is nothing that stops the car from moding.
base = cheapest & lightest I got mine for 29k obo from the delar 3/31/2006 with side airbags and some other options.

Question about 2006 models.
Somewhere I remember a thread where someone asked how to disable Daytime Running Lights on an 06. Do all 2006 models have DRL?
That would be helpful since they are required in Canada.

Muffler bearings...you've got to be kidding! Who would ever fall for that!?! I do have 3 quarts of blinker fluid coming in next week though. I should be able to wifi into your car and do the blinker fluid and chip at the same time. I'll only charge you labor for the chip though, consider it a special on the blinker fluid.
The base is just as suitable as the others if you can live without traction control. You can add a nice LSD and do the same performance mods. I got the base b/c it was more affordable for me. Just depends on what you want to spend now vs. what you want to spend later.
So many people say they are going to buy a car and do so many mods to it. How many posts have you seen where a guy says "I'm buying a Z and I was wondering if I should put a turbo or super charger on". Buy the car that makes you happy because odds are you aren't going to do anything major for a while.

Blizzaks 5-6months out of the year give me plenty of traction control... we're still wrapping up a cold winter here in Chicago.
Pick up a used VLSD (w/ low miles) in the Classifieds... and swap in a 3.9FD! You will have an edge right of the line and in my opinion its the best bang for the buck modification. It's better than any "air" mod or ECU tweak on a n/a setup.
GL and have fun!

I've got an 06 base model, and I love it. If you have lots of snow and ice just get chains, might be a little tacky, but they work. I got a Quaife and 3.9 gears, they were expensive but well worth it.
