just wondering if anyone knows y it seems like so many z's get vandalized and disrespected? no one ever posted up vandalizing stories about mustangs when i had one of those, and i've never heard of so many people getting things done to other makes and models either. dont know what people's problem is with the z ut it makes me nervous to leave my car anywhere

Cuz everyone and their mom has one, and those same folks think they drive an exotic.

A punk attitude will get you hated on...plain and simple.

 

The way i see it any almost any car gets f-with. If you look on different car boards they all deal with the same crap. Heck some ahole f-uped our minivan at a mall once. And just last week at a stripmall 5 cars were egged but the Z and a bimmer werent touched.

 

My 350Z has been vandalised 4 times in 3 years. Never have I owned another car that has been so hated. I dont get it.

 

my mustang was definetly vandalized when i had one. Not because people hated on it though, They hated on me cuz i kept stealing their girlfriends.

 

The Z does have a general hate towards it, but from everything I've seen its from jealousy.


Good example...yesterday I was drving home from work like normal. There was a kid in a disgusting *** Civic in driving in front of me on the freeway. After a little bit he moves over a lane, and as I'm getting closer & passing he holds the thumbs down sign out the window.

Mind you I was just driving normally....just because I'm in a Z I get this. About 10 seconds later he floors it and weaves off into the distance.

 

i really dont understand what goes through people's minds that they have to do these things. Just observe and appreciate. I personally find it very hard to get jealous over anything. Maybe its just the environment or they way different people were brought up.

 

HA. I got a thumbsdown from like 2 guys in a POS neon (non srt-4) that was hideous and riced out like crazy.

 

I got a thumbs down from some guy in an s2000 this morning... right after I killed him from the line and shutdown at 60...

Everyone seems to hate on these things, but honestly I love my Z.. then again i've had it since monday!

 

Yea some kids broke my rear window before!

Man, where ever you go in life there will always be hater's. Some will be jealous, other's just hate. Don't sweat em.

Z's attract more jealousy than other cars because of how good they look. When I first saw one years ago before I knew or gave a damn about anything to do with cars I thought it was an 80k plus vehicle. It's like a porsche with way better lines.

It stands out in a parking lot, so it gets more unwanted attention.

 

The Z(espcially a modded one) does draw a lot of unwanted attention. I remember right after I put on my new rims, somebody in my neighborhood started messing with my car and let the tire's air out. They did that twice until I switched to anti-theft valve stems caps. Then somebody ripped the rubber off my windshield wipers...

I've never owned any other nice cars. So maybe I'd experience the same thing if I own a S2000?

The Z is not alone with regards to vandalism.

Buddy of mine has a 2001 Mustang Cobra that has received a number of vandalism acts against it - including a key mark on the trunk, egged on the door (which left a permanent mark on the paint), found gum on the car many times...And his Cobra looks relatively stock.

Just a lot of jealousy and people who want to unjustly take something of value away from it's owner.

Bastards.

 

Seriously though, I've lurked through several forums (subaru, nissan, honda, acura forums), and I think the Z has had the most hate from my experience.

But the cars that get the most love also get the most hate
