wow talk about opening a can of worms. everyone has totally different opinions on what the best 3 mods are gonna be, and that comes down to what your looking for if your dad is gonna drag race this car then yeah spend money on the motor, if hes gonna road race, then up the suspension, if he's going solely for looks and sound, then maybe exhaust and some aesthetic mods are more for him, but once again the best 3 mods are based solely on the individual, my 3 favorites will not be the same as someone elses. personally, some springs a full exhaust, and an intake for starts. but thats my 2 cents

For my taste, and I could get three simple mods...I'd get:
a) Coilovers
b) 19-20" lightweight rims
c) K&N drop-in filters & HKS exhaust

If money was not an option, I'd get:
a) Twin-Turbo kit
b) 20" lightweight rims
c) Coilovers & camber kit

If I had (which I do) a very limited budget, I'd get:
a) K&N drop-in filters
b) Tint
c) Lowering springs

The following will be a very nice sounding car:

1. JWT Popcharger
2. Greddy EVO 2 exhaust
3. Resonated test pipes or HFC (so you don't get a CEL)

This package should run you about 1500 bucks. The exhaust paired with the pipes will sound phenomenal without sounding raspy or ricey. I am keeping in mind that he is 60 as well. GL

Another nice mod might be some sway bars.....but you said sound so I wasn't sure

+2 on the Popcharger, Nismo exhaust and 5/15" plenum spacer. This will add a nice bit of pep and make the car sound very nice, without being abnoxious at all.

Tires should be your first mod. Speed, handling, comfort all in one purchase. Too many people overlook this.

1. Tires
2. Brake Pads
3. Shocks (Koni)

Then, learn how to use them before going further. Best value upgrades, and best to make a safer car. These were also the most worst performing parts on my car, in my opinion.

No need to make up some sort of my dad story. You just bought a 350Z, and don't have a clue.

I would say JWT pop charger, Exhaust, and Sway bars. I Found my Sways to be the most noticable mod I have done so far.
