Default Type of fuel you use?

I have heard from one of my patel buddies that the top 3 major company's to go with are: Exxon Mobil, Shell and Amoco/BP fuels.
I also heard that Chevron is pretty good but not up their with the big boys.
Since the dealer gave me a couple of free tank fill ups, they put premium but we went to parker's, which is local here in town. I have used Enmark which is another local one here in town as well.

Have any of you put local gas station fuel into your Z with any noticeable performance decrease in your vehicle? Such as sluggish performance in pick up once you hit the accelerator? I heard that Amoco/BP ultimate is white fuel or something like that. Basically he said that it is awesome fuel and burns really well once ignited.

What do you fellow Z'ers think about this and what is your preference in fuel type/brand please?
Thanks for any helpful input.

Quicktrip premium is supposed to be one of the better ones. But I usually just go to Chevron, cause it's okay & I like their car wash...

Unfortunately out here in CA, we get a very crappy 91 as our top "normal" fuel. I only use 76/Conoco gas...Chevron if I can't find a 76. My beater Mazda Protege gets whatever gas is the cheapest .

Your choice in gas stations really doesn't matter much since all gas comes from the same regional fuel depots. So if you have the option of going to a stations that doesn't have all the overhead of the big firms (ie Hess, Arco, etc), you're going to save quite a bit on fuel. Back in DC, I used to hit Hess - out here I hit Arco. If the gas station looks really run down, then I'll avoid it.

I usually end up at these two Exxon's nearby my house, maybe this BP station every so often. Why Exxon? They are the two closest gas stations to my house. I always thought it was silly of people to drive far to a specific gas station because they were cheaper.

how about NO, premium gas here is 93 octance other places its 91..so I guess premium gas isnt all the same. Not to mention different stations add different additives to their gas. Marathon just started adding STP to their gas...so while it maybe the same coming out of the refinery it going to be different at different locations
