Aha! I've been driving autos since my Cushman Highlander, couldn't afford an Eagle, with centrifugal clutch which made it an auto transmission.
Let me guess. The Highlander was red, you sat on a flat, padded seat which covered the engine, you put your feet on an open platform, and the back end was boxed in. It had 5 HP and a brake pedal like on a car.

My 8 HP Eagle could easily have dragged you off the line starting in 2nd gear! Let the testosterone flow...

Anyway, good hearing from another Cushman fan-turned-Z fan.

See ya, Boomer.

Absolutely right, Wayne! A perfect description of the little beast. The platform really came in handy because I had paper route job and I could put the sack on the floor. Slow as molasses, but it would go 40mph after it spooled up the clutch. Great fun, dangerous as hell, but I didn't care since I knew I was immortal at 14.

It was fun to remember, thanks, Wayne!

I own a MT Z. And I personally never owned a AT. I can say I drive through a pretty nasty commute of stop and go and there is also some highway driving which is actually clear enough in the morning and afternoon to go 70-80. And I have to say its not bad at all.

But its really fun to have MT on that friday night when you are with your buddies doing silly stuff.

I agree, TriX. Everyone should own at least one MT sports car, unless other issues are involved. I loved all of mine, but changes are good for us or we get left behind, speaking only of me personally.
