Say bye bye to resale value......not that I don't think yellow would be amaizing, but as soon as you change the color of a car the value will fall...a lot.

Also, be prepared to pull the engine and interior so you can get the engine bay/firewall/and interior door sill edges done. Will look tacky if you open the hood (or doors for that matter and the car is a different color.)

Don't get me wrong....I would love a yellow Z and I hope to see one one day. I wish you luck when you start the project, just want to make sure you are aware of what you'd be getting into.

hell, you may already know these things....but ...if not.. there you go.

$3K+ that's a lot of money. Think of the stereo you could get for that amount of jack.

Or put it in an IRA and in 35 years at 7% you will have $32K or the price of a typical 350Z

Yeah, I was (like most people) a little surprised there was no yellow or green cars available for pre-order, but who knows? Maybe in a couple years the color options will change/open up to others......

if you want a good paint job, 3k will get you something OK (like not having the engine bay painted). Its more expensive than you think to have pro job. Theyll have to remove the windows, seals, engine parts, some panels....I have seen those two tone paint guys drop 10k on a good paint job. Even then, we are talking about something that does not have an electro-chemical bond. (The factory grounds the chassis and charges the paint molecules). This leaves you 2 times the damage from road debris and parkking lot accidents

don't do it, buy a car now and wait for the yellow in a few years, trade in your first Z and the depreciation will cost you the same as the paint job, plus you will have a factory paint job

Yeah, I'm thinking about painting it yellow myself. I know people who can do it for me for a lot cheaper, just gotta see the Silverstone first before I decide.
