Neighbor's cat scratched my new Z!
Your best bet is to leave it open only when your around and when you leave close it up.There really not much else you can do i know it sucks but hey thats the struggle of owning a nice car.I have chrome nissan air caps for my tires the that say nissan on them. And i have to take them off before i go to bed because the little kids like to steal them around the neighborhood. And put them on thier bike tires its just these dumb little things thats us Z owners have to go through.

i agree 100% but make sure you smack the crap out of the cat before you present the bastard to it's owner...
cats are cool, but cats scratching cars...no mercy!

People are supposed to be smarter than cats. There are more than enough suggestions here to solve the problem without having to kill the cat and create bigger problems for yourself.
Insulating or venting your garage would allow you to keep the door shut and more secure for your possessions from things besides cats.

take 2 empty drink cans.. put a few pennies in each, seal the top. Tie them together and then to it's tail with about 1' of slack.. give it a swift kick in the butt and that cat will run FOREVER!

He tried it on the Z but he slid down the nose of the car (lol) and never went back on.
As he got older he stopped doing the car thing.
If I were you, just stop opening the garage- it's not a big deal to let heat escape.
A/C it or the vent idea sounds feasible, maybe a small squirrel cage fan to move the air.
A feline scratched the hood of my g/fs car...it had to be repainted. Cats no grippy on Zaino.
She covers her car now and has some electronic device that supposedly emits sound at a frequency that only felines are troubled by. I have no idea if the device works but she has seen zero cats since it was installed.

Only a demented freak would kill that cat.. Sane people go to home depot and get cat repellent granuals and partially fill 2 or 3 small flower pots (with a rock in the bottom so they dont easily tip).
I did something more elaborate. Worked for months w/o refill

Other sane people would go to TSC (or like place) and purchase the motion activated cans of air for ~$20 (currently on clearance at TSC) with $6 refills. Locate at corner of garage door (not on car). Or a 'scat mat' would help at the threshold.
most expensive I've seen, but the easiest link I could find

There's a princess leah in Vancouver!?!?!?!?
But yeah, it's easy to say 'just kill it' but how many of them actually have the heart to do so.
P.S. I Looooove cats.
