Default 2003 350z with trany issues - 32k miles HELP!

Ok, first off - hey! this is my first post, just picked up my 350 about a month ago! Picked it up in philly, brought it back to South Dakota for 4 months until I move down to tempe. Second, I am getting a new trans under warranty - starting grinding a little after i got it - maybe on the 1500 mile drive home, or shortly thereafter. So far this is what has happened:

1) got new trans (009) yet to be installed - waiting on me bc #3
2) they want to charge me 80 dollars extra for what they are doing - not really giving me a straight reason why - any of you encounter this?
3) is there anything else i should have replaced while the trans is being swapped?

I really do appreciate your help with this! I came out of an integra, which had no warranty, and i did all the work myself - nissans will be a exciting new challenge!

If it's under warranty, then you should be paying nothing
