Default 07 getting new tranny

so my car developed a nasty grind into 6th gear, took it into the dealer, and new tranny time

i guess they couldn't get the tranny right for the 07's either, they should have sourced the tranny out to borg warner like they did with th bullet proof z32 tranny, a getrag tranny would be nice to. anybody ever consider making an adaptor plate to mate the getrag 6 speed out of a supra to the vq???

As far as an adapter plate that would be something that would have to be custom fab more than likely. Would be nice to toss in a bullet proof 1k rwhp geared getrag

sounds like someone should have bought themselves an auto, since they can't properly shift (which is the main cause of most manual transmission failures) being this is such a new car

LOL! Wrong. Most transmission failures on the Z or G so far have been Syncro issues with this tranny. Why do you think there have been over 9 revisions of this tranny since the car has been out trying to fix the problems?

Do you powershift? My friends 06 Z 6spd had a tranny replacement at 10k from powershifting.

I was actually considering selling my 04 for an 07. If Nissan still has not fixed this problem, I guess I won't.

I am real surprised that after 9 revisions they still don't have it right.

The transmission in my last nissan (240sx) was pretty good and robust for 10+ years and 190k kilometers. Why is the 350z transmission so @##$!#$

i've had plenty of manual tranny cars and this is the first one with issues, pretty ignorant of u just to assume i cant drive and thats y my tranny broke

improper shifting may be the cause of most tranny failures, but the z has a rep for crappy tranny's

and besides, its 6th the crapped out, i've always lazy shift into 6th cause there is never a need to shift hard or fast into 6th, so it couldn't have been driver error
