I'm completely new to the 350z, so I figured I'd come to the 350z lovers for help. I've got an opportunity to purchase a 350z touring edition from a local dealership for $25k. The car looks pretty good except for some paint problems. I'm not sure how, but the paint has been rubbed off the back bumper around the license plate, but the dealership assures me that this can be repaired.
I've run a Carfax on it, and it seems alright, but the price seems high. The car has 33k on it, so the trade-in is roughly equivalent. I don't begrudge the salespeople trying to make a buck, I just don't plan on putting anyone's kids through college.
Are there any known defects you guys can think of that I should be particularly aware of? Anything anyone knows from 2004 that was a common issue?
I really appreciate the help. Originally, I was looking for an RX8, but was talked into test driving a 350z. I'm hooked. I'm not married to this Roadster, but I am DEFINITELY going to get a 350z of some type or other. $25k is a big hit for me and it will be the most expensive car I've ever owned. I'll be trading my 2006 tC in when I purchase the car. It'll be nice having a grown-up car![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thank you for any information.

I liked the roadster, but the cost difference is too much, plus the trunk kind of bothers me. You should get a coupe and put targas on it.
I wouldn't go for that one in particular, but you should be able to get a good deal in that range for a better car. [3 months research before buying mine].

Thanks for the opinions, everyone. I agree, I just need a little boot in the right direction sometimes. I'll check with the listings here, first, I'll just have to figure out how to move my tC and get a good price. I really don't relish selling it myself, which is why I was aiming towards dealerships.
Hopefully, I'll be posting pics of my new 350Z in the near future. I'd rather find a blue one, anyway!

for 25k not worth it. Depending on how good you are dealing with salesmen, you can get a brand new 07 coupe for that price. If your negotiation skills are fair, you can get a brand new coupe for 27.
but good luck on the research and purchase !
Also be warned, 2003-2005 have a tire cupping problem. Not sure if the covertibles have it. Some say its a big deal and some say its not. For me, it was a big enough deal to not get an 03-05.
