Thanks. I hope they come sooner than that! 07 discounts!
2006 models were available in November 2005.
2007 models were seen in January 2006, (some say they were held because there was a surplus os available 2006 models still at dealerships)

oil problems happen to probably ten percent or less of the 06 Z population...and there are even less then that with major oil problems...and production month/yr doesnt matter its the whole time....some of us jsut get unlucky

Just get a 07 its stupid to buy the 2006. Or get a 2005 non revup manual you dont wanna be in the dealer all the time alot of people do have the oil burning problem. I would get the 07 the HR engine is so much better trust me i test drove and almost bought it but they tried to rape me on the trade for my 03. Save a few extra dollars and get the 07

Acutually buying a 06 is even out of my budget but I really want Z.

07 models I didn't even discuss it with dealers since they don't have discount and I expect to get enth models for like 30k OTD? There is no way I can get it.

Yes I like the new engine, but paying 4 grand more? ... It is not worth to me...

I am having oil consumption test done now. I have an 06 manual built 02/06. It has burned half a quart last 700 miles and have very dirty exhaust pipes. I spoke with my dealership and they said they have replaced "a couple of motors". We're not talking in a big city, they only had 4 Z's available when I was looking. I really think more than 10 people have this issue and it should be strongly considered before buying the 06. Also 24-25K 06's were sold, and not every one was manual. I suspect maybe 10000 or so are manual, but that's a guess. I bet in the future used 06 MT sell for less because of the oil consumption.

If I was buying a Z now, I would get an 07, even if I hate the hood and it costs more.

I think almost every 6mt 06 has this problem to some extent. What percent of Z owners come on this website and talk about cars all day??? 99% of the people where I live that drive Z's are older women. You just don't hear every story about it. It really doesn't matter if it burns oil as long as you keep it full, very annoying though. About the 06's selling for less because of consumption problems, back to my statement about how many people come to this site, the common public will probably never know about the problem.
