Do what you want to do reason i wanted the 07 because its beast of a vehicle and i wanted to keep the design of the body.Because only god knows what there gonna do to the body style when they redesign. Bottom line what ever makes you happy doesnt matter what we think all i know is i see and feel a big difference.

I could have bought an 07 but went 03 instead.

I can see I'm in the minority here, but I think it'd be ridiculous to get an 07 when I could get an 03, burn it up, then get ANOTHER 03 FOR THE SAME PRICE AS ONE 07. Especially considering that 5k miles down the road, my 03 is still just purring.

What do I know, though. I also don't have any tranny problems, so that plays into it as well.

I wouldnt do it for the sole fact of, why trade in your car for basically the same car, it just doesnt make any sense. On the other hand if you really want to get a new car I would wait and see what the remodel is going to look like. By then you could get an 07 even cheaper if you decide to go that route.

Not sure I would point someone to a 03 if they didn't have one already but since you have it and aren't having issues. I would wait until the redesign info starts to hit unless your 03 started giving you issues.

+1 If I had an '03 (in decent condition), I would not trade it for an '07 considering they're basically the same car.

There will always be a better model right around the corner. Always. You can either enjoy a car now, or you can wait several years for the next step up to arrive.

My take is that you currently have a Z. For the added expense of getting into an 07...you aren't gaining that much. Sure it's got some additional zip and the interior is a bit nicer...but not by leaps and bounds. It's still a Z at heart.

Go for it dude. I had an '03 Touring and got an '07 back in March. You won't regret it.

Paint still sucks, however.

Did you see the base power for the 08 vette?

Quote from Automobile magazine:

"The LS3, as the new engine is called, is SAE certified at 430 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque with the standard exhaust system, or 436 hp and 428 lb-ft with an optional dual-mode exhaust. Its redline is a lofty (for a pushrod engine) 6600 rpm, just 400 rpm shy of the Z06's 7000-rpm maximum speed."

I was thinking about an 07 the other day, but when I looked at prices, I decided I'd prefer to get more value out of my 03 Touring before it goes away.

The tranny problem does change the situation, but even then, I'm not sure it makes sense.

Go ahead and do it. And then when the 370Z comes out, you can trade up again. And then trade up a couple years after that, and for the rest of your life. Eventually, I will be trading up to GTR and you will still be paying for a Z coz you paid a hundred thousand dollars on basically the same car within a decade. It's your dime.

^^

Making an a$$load of money >> discipline

I think you can look at it a million ways and they all make sense. In the end you just have to do what is right. As long as you are paying your bills, and not putting yourself in a hole live your life... you never know when it is going to end... I see that enough in my work.

would they even give you a good trade-in value for your current Z? If you can afford the 2k7 then sure go for it, but if you can't then keep trying to fix the transmission.
