How bad are the Z's blind spots and rear window visibility?

I hate the reflection in the rear glass if you have something in the back just as much as the blind spots (which seem pretty bad to me, but I guess that is the price for a stiff chasis)....

I'm 6'2".

Ditto on my 70 year old eyes and bones. If I'm moving into a right lane I give myself lots of room, turn my head and eyeball the right lane to make sure all is clear. I don't rely that heavily on mirrors to insure a clear lane. Moving into a left lane is not so bad. Using the mirror and eyeballing it isn't much different from my Honda CRV. Agree that backing out is the worst. I try to pull into spaces with the nose facing the lane so that I can just pull out. Hate it when I get surrounded by two hugh trucks and have to back out. Its bad enough with the Honda but hairy with the Z. Even so, I love the car. If this is the biggest problem I have to deal with its well worth it.

I think you can adjust the left and right wing mirrors so that there is no blind spot (but you'll have to swing them out far enough that you can't really see the car's body).

As stated by other people, the rear view will give you problems if you are tall. If you are below 6', you have a nice straight view out of the car and into the horizon behind you. If you are 6' and above, the strut bar will start obstructing your view, and what you'll probably see is the road and the front of the car right behind you.

Visibility in the front and sides are a little bad because of the high body, and this makes parking more nerve-wracking. If you have a front lip you will initially have trouble judging how far you have to go before you smash it into the curb. Same with the sides and watching out for your wheels/rims. But you can get used to it.

I had a firebird and now the Z — no real difference. I added a little more clearance when I removed the worthless back wiper.

I was very concerned when first buying the Z as I have a fetish about knowing what is going on around me. Except for backing I have NO problems, but your torso height does make a difference.

1. Adjust your side mirrors according to the link DAVESZ#3 provided
2. Adjust the rearview using both axis of the mirrow stem(yes it enables you to adjust the height and angle a bit)
3. If you still have a problem with the rearview mirror, adjust your seat height then redo 1 & 2.

I have a bigger concern of tall vehicles not seeing me when I'm along side or in their blind spot.

Its def. a lot smaller of a view than most cars. The strut bar takes up half the rear view mirror haha. You do get used to it. I tinted my windows as well which makes night time viewing horrible. I suggest getting a rear view camera if you have a navi unit or screen, helps a lot!!! But overall not too bad, like other people have said, adjust your side mirrors properly.

Coming from my 3000GT I have not noticed it being any worse. I guess I got used to having limited rear view and I am more aware of cars around me to know when I have passed / been passed.

I agree that backing out of a spot with cars on both sides sucks. I tend to park in places where I only have a car on one side to keep door ding chances down anyways so this has not been a huge issue yet either.

They're bad, but like anything, over time, you'll get used to it.

Neither views are good at all IMO. Merging in heavy traffic can make you a little weary at times.

And I'm sure theres other with hundreds of posts who haven't purchased either, so take it somewhere else. Dont think its against the rules to get some insight on a car before buying one. Thanks..
