Yes www.vwvortex.com is the best place for info for VW's on the web. I have been on there since early 99. You will find most of the dicks you speak of are in the mk4 forum and your newly aquired mk5 forum. But there are plenty of dicks on this forum as well. Its easy to be a dick on the internet.

I have a 01 GTI 1.8t and a 93 Corrado VR6 .. Had a few othe VW's as well. You will find a lot of good info on the site. Enjoy

 

So I'm betting he was trying to lower his payments. No trade in for the beater and probably upside down on the Z. So now you bought a 23k car and rolled 5k into the VW. So you now have a 30k car insead of a 35k car. Not the smartest move in my opinion.

The Z is paid off (thanks to my company's IPO !!) and like I said I am donating the beater. I could have tried to sell it myself - and I did try but only for a couple of days. Too many deadbeat buyers wanting to test drive.

My only criteria for new car was 4 doors, fun to drive and preferably an automatic as I going to have do a lot of city driving. And GTI and the MS3 are the only that fit the bill. But obviously the MS3 is a 6SP..............
