Anyway, engine fires are not cool and scary as ****. Glad you're okay. I totally opened this thread thinking you were trying to save children from the Griffith park fire in the Z and accidentally caught it on fire. Your story is cool, too.
Nope no oil change was planning on that next week. Ya and opening your hood to a fire ball sucks

good to hear your ok

you are running a turbo right? i have encountered instances when a fellow car enthusiast's oil lines have come apart one way or another around the turbo oil return line--somewhere near the lower downpipe/header area.

Thanks. I have a fire extinguisher but the closest thing to me at the time was the water hose so I used that.

Far out that was lucky. At least you're okay, even if the Z is a bit toasted.

Certainly does. Always have an extinguisher in my Z. You always hope that if you have to use the extinguisher, that'll be on someone else's car.

Sorry to hear this bro!!! First thing that came to mind was oil, but you mentioned above not seeing/smelling any. Could be fuel I guess, but not really since you mention driver's side.

You could be a trailer queen and tow it out to the meet tonight. j/k

Hopefully your insurance will take care of you.

your car might be upset that you have to leave it to go to the sandbox. Glad you are ok.

No its at GTM first I have to figure out what happened (or and who's fault it is).

It wasn't oil the motor was still running fine when the car was on fire

Hopefully its just PS fuild or something and nothing got to damaged.
