Default License plates- how long?

How long did it take you all to get your license plates after you got your car? I've had mine for a month now and thought they would have been here by now. Dealer said about three weeks.

My plates were put on the car before I left the dealer.

It depends if it's a personalized plate or not ... If not, then it's usually 3-4 weeks. The plate comes with your registration. If it is a personalized plate, then that's a whole different ballgame. It could take anywhere from 6-10 weeks, but if your dealer messes it up (like mine did), it could take longer.

Standard Calif. plates should take 3-6 weeks. I got mine in about 4 then waited another 4 for my personalized ones (ordered after took possession of car).

5.5 weeks for me. But the license plate number does not match what is on the registration. I have a DMV appointment today to clear it up. Sucks to waste time. Oh well.

I have a buddy that purchased a Ford Ranger about two years ago and still drive around with the dealership logo in his frame- he has his plates- but hasn't put them on-
I was hoping to get my plates before the trek down to SoCal.

Thanks for the responses all.
