Default What is it called when a dent is pressed out?

I'd really appreciate some help. What is the term for pressing out a dent instead of drilling and pulling it out? I saw one of the shows on SpeedVision that had a guy using different tools to press out dents. I have two small dimples, ~1", on my hood to remove. Last night a squall line came through and a two inch branch came off the tree and hit the hood right in the middle.

I'd rather have it pressed out and eliminate the need to paint but I can't remember what they called the process.

I think it heavily depends on the dent, whether its creased or on a curve ect. rough guess of 100-200 give or take 300$.

for a week old car, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I don't even think it costs that much, but whatever the cost it is WAY less expensive than the traditional method of fixing dents: strip paint, fill in dent, paint, blend.

Default cost ,, depends

It really depends on the size of the dent and how hard it is to get to.

I had a ding in my door (~2-3 inches) and the guy simply massaged it out from inside. he went in through the window sill (taking care not to scratch the glass (no sharp tools used).

Final cost?

$40 bucks.

I would not pay more than $100 per dent. The guy did mine in 15 minutes as I watched.

good luck

Thank you! Thats' what I was looking for. The paint is good and the dent isn't a crease so I think this will work.

I was going to a show today but I passed on it because of the dents. I have to get them fixed first before I feel right about others looking at it.

After checking the web site for locations, I see get to go back to my old Eclipse dealer. They were pretty good people, just didn't sell Zs.

I had a small dent pressed out on my driver's side door.

Cost me $65. I isn't nearly as complex to get to the underside of a hood ding, so I would imagine it would cost much less to press those out.

Also, the job was quite good. I can't find a trace of the former ding - looks new!!
