Let me put it this way......as far as being a software engineer, you don't know what you're talking about buddy. I am speaking from experience. I have been a software engineer for 14 years. I am the one responsible for maintaining various parts of our website, including on-hand inventory.
I never said I could solve all of your companies problems, maybe that's why they hired you?
And "backbone" is a term used to describe the extreme importance of something. I am not talking about handheld RF scanners. You keep bringing up RFID as if it's crucial to inventory management. Is this why you keep saying the expense to keep an accurate inventory is so expensive? RFID or even bar-coding itself isn't necessary to do so.

I also had a horrible experience with mynismo.com. They seemed very rude, becuase I wanted to checked the availibilty of some pads. Anyways, after he put me on hold for what seemed 10min, I just hung up. Not very professional, IMO.

...i obviously wasnt comparing the 2i know about RFID and the incredibly complex tech that walmart uses, hence the reason it was a joke. JOKE, JOKE. I had a full 4 month long class on SCM specifically. simmah down nahh.
I had a similar experience in which I ordered something from them and after -4-5 months they still couldn't get the product in to me even though the intial quoted wait time was 3 weeks. I was not happy but Andy made it up to me later with another purchase.
I don't know, but Mynismo has been great to me. Always delivered on time and never had any issues or what so ever. i think it was just that person who you spoke with had a bad day or something. Talk to Andy next time.

What I've learned:
1) There is a lot of mixed emotions about them, making my complaint not the only one. I know you can't please EVERYONE, but that wasn't my point--it was the lack of caring for an enthusiast AND a customer to which is inexcusable.
2) The people that said "don't tear your car apart waiting for parts you ordered online", are obviously more lucky than I. You say they work 8, 9, 10 hours a day....I work 50 hours or more a week, plus have a life. I PREPARED by ordering them on a Thursday evening, knowing they would process and ship on Friday--so I thought. I expected to do the install ONE WEEK and ONE DAY after placing the original order. Seriously, use your brain and see the logic...I gave them the benefit of the doubt since they are in Cali I gave them 6 full business days to ship and process. I knew my car would be up on stands for a week, but I didn't expect it to now be several more days while I found another vendor to get me the product.
3) I didn't order something else from them, as I figured that if they couldn't handle the simple NS pads order, how can they get me B-force or something else? What's the point of making another order that I'll wait days to find out they can't fill.
This isn't over-reaction, its my opinion that they handled the situation like crap and others should hear it. Isn't that the point of the forums?

odering online is never a good idea for something you need in a hurry. if i don't need it for at least a week, i'll go ahead and order it online. under a week, i'll call the customer service / sales number.

Oh, and I ordered ahead of time because I had my rotors resurfaced like you are supposed to before installing pads. I have a friend that can do it for free, but could only do it during the week which is why it sat up so long, but I had the rotors back on Wed. I figured I could do the install Wed. night...that's if the pads would have been there. I've done plenty of break jobs, don't tell me about how easy it is or what I did wrong there either.

IMO, the start of mynismo when jason and jeff and the other dude was doing the work the service was A+. Parts i asked for they would get back to me with their best price and it was no lie. If they said they have shipped it then it has been shipped and i would recieve the parts according to their scheduled date. Then slowly things began to fall apart as it seems. A few months ago i've ordered something or had questions about my car and i called the place up. I didn't get the same service as before. The help was not as "friendly." The parts were shipped out a little late. But none the less Andy gave great serviced and that gave much help. So i would have to rate the place at a B+. I've spoke to Andy on the phone and he was a great help. So it looks like the Performance Nissan people who go to this board are a great help but for the ones who don't gives us bad service.
I like to stick with the people who's really goes out to help me get my parts and i follow them no matter what dealership/store they work at now.
But we can't expect the same kind of service when Performance Nissan has expanded many times over. Just like how mom and pop shops gives you great service vs chain stores. Same idea....

For those who don't know, Performance Nissan (mymismo.com home store) was sold not too long ago to a large holding company that buys auto dealerships. As what happens in a case like this, when the bean counters get done with their non-human factor analysis, they cut what they consider "the fat" and this is what you get...new hires for less pay and don't take pride in their work product.
The mass exedus from there was huge. The sales staff is back to cheese ball line and stereotypical dealings. Service writers are unecessarily upselling on every service and the parts crew is lacking. West Covina Nissan picked up, what seems like, the entire crew that was worth anything from Performance Nissan, or at least the ones that were smart enough to take advantage of the offers they were given.
I live right near Performance and used to give them all my business, but since the Kronans sold the business and moved to another Nissan store further away, I have not returned since. I found that West Covina Nissan is what Performance Nissan was...and it is growing due to HUGE support.
The people are glad to be there, the service guys know about working on performance cars and parts guys give good info with very competative prices...what more could you want. Once Jeff gets their website up, I think they will be a major source for all.
I wish Andy luck where he is, but the staff will most likely be the issue for days to come. Andy, if you're reading this...go see if the offer you got is still good, buddy. Not bashing you dude, just keeping it real.

I took my $2,315 order somewhere else, and all my parts are on their way, and for less money than they would have cost from mynismo. I saved over 50 bucks.
On the other hand, I'd rather had bought it ALL from one place (50 bucks or no), and mynismo had everything I wanted. Unfortunately, taking orders on the phone is too much of a "hassle" for them, so I ordered my stuff from 3 other places that were more than happy to accomodate me and I already have the tracking numbers. All parts were shipped the same day I called.
Those companies have earned a customer for life.
I would say performance nissan/mynismo.com is pretty good vender. They did F'ed up my order once (send me the wrong crushwasher for transmission drain plug). But after a phone call, I eventually got the right part a few days later.
Funny how this went from someone's brake pad order not being fulfilled to a full blown ERP SCM debate....lol. Can you say SAP? LOL. Keeping current on-hand inventory visibility is key to any CRM strategy....I come from this world (20 years), so just boggles my mind a bit when a supplier says, "we had it before, but we dont now and dont know when it will be coming in...".
