Thanks...you said what I was thinking!
I'd forgotten how many idiots there are out there who make banal comments based more on their own self-worth (or lack of) than any real knowledge or passion for sports cars.
Well, I hope some people found the Vette stuff of interesting. I love reading about all sports cars, but I know there are those who can't see past their own brand or bank account.

Now if it was the Continental GT, that has hints of sports car styling to it, so maybe that's why younger rich people drive it. I assume this was an Azure or Arnage?

Vette's have too many issues in my opinion. I sell them for a living. The tops leak on the coupes (was a recall issue). The battery is dead in a week of not driving it, and it takes a ton of power to turn that thing over. Skip shift is annoying, but can be removed easily. Power could be a lot better as well (will be with the 2008 6.2 liter engine). Also, they don't hold their value that well (in this area at least). Just my 2 cents. I'm sure I would disapprove of the 350 if I worked at a nissan dealership instead. On a good note though, I love the new headlights, the HUD on the 3lt package, and the active handling system. makes it so almost impossible even for a novice driver to completely lose control in a corner.

The DBS (dead battery syndrome) was an issue only with the '05 manual cars, although a few early '06 cars did have this problem as well.
The car needs more power? Hmmmm....I'm averaging about 4.2 0-60 with my G-Tech on this new coupe....and the engine is barely broken in. I will be adding more power via Lingenfelter, but that's just me.....too much is never enough. As the car sits on the showroom, IT DOES NOT LACK POWER. Unless you do a side-by-side comparison, you'll never feel the extra 35 HP in the '08.
I drove a C6 convertible for over a year, and I've had the new '07 for about two months. Neither car had any issues,.....no rattle, squeaks, or mechanical flaws. I can't say the same for any of the dozens of cars I've had over the years....not even the 350Z. My wife drives an '05 Audi A8....that car has been the shop almost a dozen times for all kind of issues. The latest one is that it's blowing black smoke when you get on it....and it only has 6000 miles on it. The car is a POS.
All cars have issues, and if that's the best you can do to put down the Vette, I'll take one. No...wait...I already have one.
the 07's still have the same issue with the battery dying...i have 5 on mty showroom floor right now, and only 2 will start without the jump box. Manuals and auto's. The manual's just die faster if not in reverse. To my understanding, the top used to leak, can check with service though on tuesday, but i dont think it is that important. All in all, the vette is a great car for the money. Look what it is compared against...Cayman, boxster S, Z4 (why? i dont know). I drove my friends cayman, and compared to the vette, the vette has more ***** to it, but the cayman just felt like it had a lot better craftsmanship. Everyone has their own oppinions though. I almost bought a vette, but I decided to pay 1/2 the price for a 350z. That, and I am only 24...I haven't had my mid-life crisis, or gotten divorced yet.

I paid almost $38,000 for a track model Z in 2003 (no discounts at the time). I just paid $43K for an '07 vette ($500 UNDER invoice). A comparably equipped 350Z is not half the price, and a for only a few thousand more (if you can work the deal right), the Vette feels like twice the car.
BTW, you don't have to have a mid-life crisis or been divorced to own and love the Corvette. I've done neither. All you need is a true passion for the car. To sterotype as you have done shows true ingnorance.

Smart. And the midlife crisis problem... I bet you tell all your buyers how awesome they are that they're buying a Vette, even though you're lying right in their face right? Smart.
Sorry, I just don't buy it.

Believe me, you wouldn't be going off posting about how bad Vettes are if you sell them for a living, especially on a forum where many owners of the subject car (Z in this case) generally aspire to owning a car like a Vette. Hopefully no one from the NW thread reads this, so they will know to stay away from all the Chevy dealerships in the Seattle area.

If he's telling the truth about selling cars, I doubt he sells very many Corvettes.
The funny thing is, for the most part, no one knows less about cars than a car salemsan. If you want the wrong information about upcoming cars, go ask someone at a car dealership. These guys are the bottom of the food chain in the car business, like flounders grazing on the ocean floor.
The moron I bought my '07 from has been selling the C6 for three years now. I asked him a few basic questions (which I already knew the answers to) and he didn't have clue...and this guy was the dealership's "Corvette Specialist." No wonder GM is in trouble. $hit rolls downhill.
I dread taking my car to the dealership for any service work, so I found my own Corvette mechanic:
