Get it. I bought my Z and im paying it off all on my own with no problem. You will get much respect and hate at the same time while i highschool. I just parked under the camera 500 feet away from where most people park. Dont get anyting else if you enjoy power and fun cars. I had an RSX for less than 6 months and had to get another car because it was slow for me. Get it and respect it with your life, this car is awesome.

But as blasphemous as this is, I wouldn't really consider the Z a "sports car" in the sense you mean as far as shear power. In fact I'd probably have traded it in by now if I wasn't planning on Vorteching it this summer. It's a good looking and handling car, but good numbers are expensive to put down without FI.
RSX would wear off in months. This is a good car to grow into.

I have been driving my parents Honda and corolla for two years now and am planning to practice driving a cheap beater manual for a good part of the summer. My question is, do you think this is the right time to get a sports car?
Would I need more experience? I am turning 19 and I don't want to make the mistake of buying a sports car too early only to wreck it and get myself hurt in the process. Cant say I'm not looking forward to owning one though

You are not ready for a Z because in this (Hraesvelg's) universe there is not such thing as pearents helping out the kids while the kids gradually get fully independent. Therefore, if you cannot pay for your college tuition/food/clothing/etc and afford a Z, you are not ready for it. Even if you are a responsible young person, who is working his **** off to actually achieve something after college, you cannot have a Z unless you can pay for it yourself now. Because otherwise you are a spoiled nood and deserve the online uber-pwnage.
Anyway, FWIW, I was dating someone from my old school and stayed in her dorm twice. One of these nights my stock atenna got stolen. But that was a couple of years back, I'm sure at this time the Z's are pretty common on college campuses. However if you:
-Have snowy winters
-Haul a lot of junk between the campus and your parents' house when you go home
-Live on a campus where a nicer car would stand out
...maybe an Evo or an STI would be a more practical idea.

depends on how mature you are and if you respect the car....my first car was a supra turbo (mkiii..and yes I bought it myself. I busted my butt at six flags to pay for it) I drove it for three years and had no accidents. College though, your asking for door dings everywhere...
