I am 20 and have had my Z since last year. Not at all a car that has too much power, just don't be a complete a** with the car. I watched a blue Z the other day pulled next to me at light, took off, then crashed haha. The Z was my third car as when the Z first came out I had a Civic hatch (spoon'ed out) and new the Z is the car I would end up with and went from a Civic hatch to an Integra Type-R (real one) then to the Z. The step-ups in power helped out driving and getting adjusted from fwd to rwd wasn't too hard. But if YOU have the money and can get a Z go for it. That is if it is YOURS, not your parents.

i would say you were ready if you had experience driving fast sports cars........but since you dont i gonna suggest something a little slower i.e. civic, rsx, srt-4, wrx. i mean i am only 20 and have a z ,but have had experience with fast cars since i was 15 . i had a 320 hp mustang which tought me alot about power+rwd. if you want to do it, i'll enjoy reading your accident in the paper on on some random post. dumb thread( kinda like mine always are)

I got mine when I was 18 and its... perfect. just be easy on throttle.
I got base model which don't have TCS, LSD but that teaches me how to drive RWD properly. (especially in rain)
