Default Longest Trip Taken in the Z or G

This thought came into my head as I just got done with a trip from Portland, Oregon to Los Angeles which is a little over 1000 miles.

We made the trip in around 14 hours and it made me wonder what some of the longest trips you've taken are?

Who has the record for longest continuous trip in their car (gas stops and food stops non-withstanding...)

Would love to hear about it, post it here!

Forgot to mention this trip single handedly doubled my odometer reading!

from north carolina to california then back to north carolina. I have never been a car that felt more comforable than the z surprising as that is. I feel so at home in the car and the car drives and handles so effortlessly through all the mountains. Having the 6th gear helps so much on the freeway doing 70-80mph also.

Holy cow, that is about as far as one can drive without hitting water! How long did the trip take?

it took 2 days each way. Every 6 hours, i stopped at a rest stop and let the engine cool down for an hour (something my dad taught me). Passenger just watched dvds the whole time (not me..lol).

Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, but I love driving the Z. I'll take a beating rather than drive the wife's car for 2 hours, but never have a problem driving the Z on long trips. We've been on 5 long road trips over the last two years.

I'm impressed with how comfortable the Z is to drive and how smooth it is at highway speeds. I do feel sorry for all the base owners with no cruise control. It's a necessity for a road trip.

Los Angeles to Fort Hood, Texas; one way>>> 20 hours, including 1 hour stop at a Casino (won $120) and fuel ups. 2 drivers switch every 4-6 hours, difficult to stay under 85. Thank god for cruise control. Make a round-trip this July, will be driving back with some NA mods.

Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale with one stop near Houston. Definitly more comfortable then the moving truck was.

I'm possibly planning a 2,886 mile round trip to Nova Scotia... We will have to see if it falls through or not....

But so far, only about 8 hour round trip is my longest.
