Cool 1200 miles sure is a long time to wait

It really is. So i have around 830 miles on her now. I havn't taken it past 4K. So yesterday i said what the hell, i babied it for the past two months i think i can have some fun. Second gear i punched it up to 5K, my buddy was with me in the car and we both say "holy sh**). And that was up to 5K maybe 51-5200. All i can say is wow, this car is FAST. It really does put you back in your seat.

Man I hear you... I put like 500 miles a month on my car but I couldn't wait that long, I drove it everywhere and sometimes went on drives at night just to put miles on it. Once it's on there it feels great!!! Have fun and happy driving!

the thing that sucks is the more you redline, the more the car will feel not as fast as the first time. 350z was very easy to get use to.

I feel your pain. I have 400 miles on mine, and am travelling on business the next couple of weeks, so the break-in period is gonna last even longer. Ah well, something to look forward to...

What's up with members who have been registered here since 2005 or 2006 and they're just breaking in their Zs? It took you guys that long to buy one?

There are arguments that goes both ways, but I think a strict break-in is a bit overrated. I wouldn't redline it all the time, but at the same time, I wouldn't strictly adhere to the break-in guidelines.

I broke in my '07 Z hard from the moment I drove it off the lot. I took advice from that one website that tells people that breaking your car in hard is better, especially to make sure all the seals are properly sealed. So far no problems whatsoever, and if I do experience any, I'll take it in under warranty. I'm not planning on keeping it more than 3 years, so the warranty should cover anything I come up against.

Since I bought my 06 350z last October, I've driven it twice. Not even positive what the mileage is on it anymore. Working overseas has it's downfalls and I miss my car....
