I come in as an E-3 for signing up for 6 years plus I get flight pay for my job, inflight refueling.

No, they DO rape you! Especially if your 18 in the military. The only question is how emotionally scarred you will be afterwards.

Being retired military, I would highly discourge this as stated before your recuriter as given you false info on pay as a brand new recruit with less than 4months in the military your BASE PAY will be 1203.90 a month so bring home will be right between 700.00 to 800.00 pay range after taxes state and fedral and your GI Bill, life insurance. Make sure you give your self some time before going to buy that new Z or which ever car you decide, as most Stealerships are going to rape you as you mention you are in the military and are only a E-1,E-2, or E-3 in the military save your money buy a beater outright then save your money and build that credit score up. I have seen to many times new soldiers fall into the path in which you are heading and take many years to recover from.

Listen to the veteran. And even if you did get the car all you'll be doing on the weekends is firewatch with your moonbeam not enjoying your ride. In the Marines as an E-2 supposedly your a Private First Class or PFC...WRONG...an E-2 is a PFC or Perfect For Cleaning 24/7.
