I'm an SSgt now , i didnt buy myself a nice car till is put on Sra. My car before that was a few thousand car i could pay cash for. It was nice, i was one of the few in the dorms that could actually go out and do stuff on the weekend. Even after i put on Sra, i only bought a car that wasnt to expensive $10k so i could still have money to live a good life. It wasnt till i did a tour in Okinawa ( saved like hell while i was there) and past my 10 year mark before i bought a Z.

I'm an E-4 in the marine corps.. just bought a 2003 350Z... my insurance is only 98 dollars a month.. im 20 years old.. USAA for the win. I pay a lot but have no other bills really to speak of other than my internet so I'm happy. put most of my iraq money onto it... so i'd say wait until you finish your first pump.. If you're in the army you'll have mad loot as long as you don't blow it all on your little week off.. lol

dude your command should have finance counselor that can sit down with you and break everything down....in my opinion if you don't know if you can afford it then you can't .... always try to be overly careful with your money NEVER over extend yourself... in the end it just isn't worth it. Get a certified used one, there really isnt all that much differance and you will save 10k or so. E-6 USN

I could've afforded a brand new Z just out of bootcamp. As a paid E-3 through bootcamp, you'll get just over $2200 in the bank when you're out. Go with Navy Federal... I have a 4.7% APR on my FX35 (put $13,000 down on it w/out a problem).
