From my own experience driving a red Z (and one that is visually modded at that), I get no more attention than the average driver of any other color car.

I generally kept the Miata at about 90 on state highways, closer to 100 on the interstate.

I seldom drive the Z tht fast, just because i know it attracts more attention.

+1 in my Lemans, cops seem to be ignoring sometimes. I think it's more about wether your being a jackass or not. Everytime I have been pulled over in my life (except for when I had tinted windows), I attracted the attention because of my actions.

Last week I clayed and wax'd my car for the first time since I bought it. Car was just glistening in the sun. Same day I was doin 60 in a 45. Going about average speed with traffic but I still got pulled over for the first time in my Z.

I've got 1 speeding ticket in my entire life. No more.

i think if you have a unusual color (DB, LMS, yellow etc) your car will get noticed more and get more attention (good and bad)

cops harassed me hardcore (when it was bone stock). a 13 hour drive from houston to st louis takes me 16 in the Z having to set cruise control 1 mph under. they used to follow me for 10+ miles at times. psht

now wheels, suspension, mods etc i dont get any problems...but everyones lookin at the Z anyways ;x

i have yet to take the modded Z out of st louis, so well see then lol

and clean record, 0 tickets

I would think the yellow Z stands out the most. Then again I remember when the 93-98 Supras where out I saw them pulled over all the time no matter what color. Guess they weren't doing the speed limit? LOL

damn.... What I would give for that to be my driveway. No offense to myself or any of the other Z owners on here but why do you even have the 350Z?

Color is pretty pointless when you consider a trooper sitting out on the side of the highway with a radar gun. He can't tell what you're driving or what color it is at the distance he tags you.

A little off topic but these two Zs look so good they're almost edible.

Yellow Z is the wife's dailey driver. The red Z is my toy.

You make a good point. K-Band (and X-Band for that matter) is "color blind."

And, another point: The easiest target is a high-standing SUV. A lower height vehicle (as is the Z) requires more precise aiming for the K-Band operator. A Z can literally "slide under the radar."

Aiming a radar gun is not precise in any shape, form or manner. Get it in the general direction and it will read. 350Z's show up fairly nicely. However, make it a habit to travel with large vehicles around you and they will get read, not the smaller car (for the most part).

But in almost 19 years of LE work, I have yet to come across a vehicle which won't give a return.

well even they some collors attract attention especially red which is why its the color of vehicle thats the most stolen but the fact is the most ticketed color is White only because White reflects light more than any color and its easier for the radar/lidar to pick up. The other reason is because White is usually the color for base model cars and its the most manufactured color as well. As for cops stopping you well i have had cops where the reason they stopped me is to check out my car alot of cops tend to do that. Especially those that are into cars

Pretty much the argument I made in my last two stops (and those stops were in the SUV).
