Default A stupid question for a first time poster...

I am picking up a '05 350z this friday. It was bought new in Sacramento and driven to Miami Beach, then parked until traded to my local dealer. It has 3,689 miles on it, not a mark anywhere, and looks great. It is a base model, and from this stems my question. I was told by the dealer that LSD is a standard option on all models over year '04. Is this true? I can't seem to find any information on it on the net or the Nissan site itself. Thanks for helping me.

Default hmmph!

I wonder if I should break this deal on just the fact that I was lied to. I have done all the paperwork, but have not paid the down payment until Friday.

No base, regardless of year, comes with an LSD. You can easily tell if it has an LSD or not.

Are you sure its a base, and not an Enthusiast?

No base any year comes with a LSD. That some reeeeeeeally low miles for an '05. Since the dealer obviously bs'ed you on the LSD... look for holes in the story of how that car got there. Look for flood damage as well. Could be a Katrina car or have some other kind of hidden damage. Make sure you take it to a mechanic.

If you want the LSD and don't think you may want to upgrade to a more aggressive aftermarket option... break the deal.

Although there are some really great aftermarket ones that are livable...

well with all this said... I do love the car. I have found that the Quaife aftermarket LSD will do the job for around a grand or so, and it drops right in the base model with no extra changes needed. Anyone here use aftermarket LSD's?

What kind of "deal" are you talking about though? If the car is cheap enough, then perhaps I would consider. Also what do you plan on doing with the car?
