Default Well folks, I decided to do it(Redlined my Z!) After Injen CAI Install

So after I installed my Injen CAI I recieved today (which was a complete *****to install), I had to take the bumper off & the tire well things, damn there were like 35 screws & bolts.... But anyway, after test driving her for about an hour, I was tempted to redline my baby (Listening to the air shoot into the CAI)... So I slowed down on my road to a stop, floored it, redlined 1st & 2nd.. then I let off because I was absolutly flying down my road.... cops tend to hide in the woods so I didnt want to chance it anymore.

I heard a roar like I've never heard before & damn the torque was awesome....

btw- Not saying the CAI had anything to do with it, no clue if it helps the car or not, couldnt really tell, but I love the sound

That sounds very brave and dangerous. I don't know how you do it.

How long have you had your Z? Take it eazy for the first 50,000 miles and it will reward you with big fun after that break-in.

50K Break-in provides long term rewards? Were you being serious?

Hmmm; I redlined my Z about 10 times this morning, and I guess off the top of my head, every day since I bought it two years ago, at last 3 times a day.

Come to think of it, I redlined my VG30E SOHC MAXIMA most of it's natural life past 200Kmi, with out a leak or any mechanical failure at all. the new owner rips it too, and now it has 260KMI with out any leaks!!!

Come to think of it, I redline every car I've ever owned almost two to three times a day, and, WOW; no mechanical failures at all.

Do we see a trend?

that's why you don't buy Injen products. Neither the AEM or the Nismo ones require you to remove the bumper. Mine definitely took like 2.5 hours to do though lol. Definitely a pain. I couldn't believe how much plastic crap was in the way. Not just the air box, but also the foam and plastic ducting that went from the bottom of the bumper.

There was a post a while back w/ people telling me to redline my car, had many posters, so this was just letting those ppl know I did it. I wasnt trying to sound like big **** or anything... lol

I had to take my 2 front tires off, inner tire wells, front lip thing, random plastic parts behind the tire wells, .. took the bumper off & then had to unbolt the factory intake, cut the zip cords around things connecting it.. but the worst part was putting the intake IN, it wasnt bad unteal I got to the partr where I put the black extender tube on that goes behind the bumper, everything was such a tight fit & sliding the black hose to the chrome intake tube was pure hell, I had to litteraly strain my nuts off to put it on there, I guess it was like that because at the other end of the black tube, it was pretty snug in the factory air duct tube spot... finally did it though, hoping I put the tube on there high enough to stay on.
Had about 3 screws/bolts left after the job My ***** gonna fall off going down the road, haha
Everything sounded good though, I just need to clean my engine bay now, it was a pretty dirty job...

The first couple of times that you redline the motor is very exciting. Maybe some of us have forgotten what it was like being a new 350Z driver.
