have had my 07' Z for about a month now and put just over 1500 miles on it.. and honestly, im not seeing a car in my entire city that i'd rather have.
- the idle sounds awsome, absolutely perfect.
- handling is beyond gokart standards. i have to be careful i dont take turns too fast or ill overturn them and knick the curb..
- um.. chicks. thats all i have to say. ive talked to more girls in the last month that i didn't know than the last year before it.
the ONLY thing i don't really like about it is how the cruise control, when on, slows your car DOWN when doing down a hill.
overall- for anyone who's looking for reviews, incredible car, good mileage, and an absolute babe M A G N E T.

but even if he didn't mean it literally, stock its no where near it. This isn't a car where i would say handling is good. Its ok but i think torque is the strongest point.

I agree with the OP. It's hard not to become excited about this car after you own/drive it for a short period. When you consider its performance and "track abilities" are in the same class as the Porsches (Boxter and Cayman) and other more expensive cars, you see the Z's value. Sport cars in the same class and price-range (Mazda and Honda) or a little higher price-range (Audi TT) don't match the Z's performance or track-stats.
And... Obviously the OP's reference to a "gokart" is a metaphor he uses to describe the Z's precise handling.
I think he makes a good point. I don't know what I could buy instead of the Z for its price and get the same handling, performance, etc.
