Let's see what you do when a situation like this happens to you.
People like you are the reason drivers like that get away with what they do. Keying the car would deter him/her from ever even thinking about parking next to a car like the Z again. (When there are plenty others to choose from).

WTF. If you are parked at the end of the lot, by yourself, not taking up more than one spot, why do that? Surely they did it on purpose thinking it was probably funny, or maybe they don't want their Cavalier to get a ding.
There is this guy at my work that always parks in the corner of the parking garage AND takes up two spots. I park in the spot next to the one he is taking off. Mainly because I think thats obnoxious, and secondly, no way in hell he would ding my car seeing as what he did was more extreme.

Man that ticks me off...don't do anything to that peice of $#!T car...it's not worth any of your keys. See if he continues to do it again...I had the same problem with a good big spot way in the back...I was the only one back there then all of a sudden everyone is trying to get THAT spot. Then I caught the neonevy bug and parked NEXT to my good spot. Just find another good spot...if it continues...don't do anything with your keys...but on your last day of work....Consider it.

CRY MORE! Jesus, theres hardly any cars in the parking lot. Plus the whole lot is in the shade!!! (Both may be because of the time of day).
Seriously though...someone parking next to you isnt that big of a deal, look at how much space is still between the z and the other car.

No matter where you go, nor how carefully you've parked, as long as you park in public, your car is not immune to scratches and dents, either by accident or done on purpose. I've heard many hate-filled horror stories.

I have a white 97 altima ($21k new). The car was a year old and immaculate. I went to visit a friend who owned an antiques store in the heart of (Greenwich, CT.)...probably one of the richest American towns.
I parked parallel on the street, and went into his store for approximately 20 minutes. When I came out, the entire passenger side looked like it was keyed (deep enough to be gouged into the metal). My first feeling was "loss of words", then "anger".
It cost me more than $900 ($400 out of pocket, $500 deductible).
I later thought that it may not have been vandalism, but maybe a child on a bicycle or some other accident. No matter, ultimately, it was my fault, considering that I was the one who took the chance of pulling it out of my garage.

ps. Talk about unfair: Today I was talking to a girlfriend who told me that her auto insurance company was raising her rates because they investigated her credit score, and found that she missed a payment on a monthly bill. She checked it out and found out that it was against the law for bill collectors to look at your credit rating without your permission. She called another company, and they gave her a lower rate than the first.
Geez! This is War!! We try to do the best that we can, and no matter what some a'hole has you in their sights intentionally trying to make your life hell.
S**t! What I need is a good man to do my worrying for me Attachment 155034...
...but of course, they don't exist, and I've gotten to not care to go looking any more. Attachment 155035
