What should I do with my Z....(Navy related)
Here's my situation...I'm in the Navy and today I received orders to Sigonella Italy for the next 3 years
Bringing the Z over to Italy is pretty much out of the question. Crazy *** drivers and very narrow streets FTL. I'm contemplating selling it, or leaving it with my parents for the next three years.
I only have around 12 months until she's all paid off. It would be nice coming home after 3 years to a car that's paid off.
If I leave her with my folks, it will kind of be a burden for them. I'd have my dad drive her every now and then, but she'll still be sitting there in their driveway 95% of the time that I'm gone.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Part of me would hate to see the Z go
, but it might be the most practical decision.

id keep it, and with the 2 years of no payments.. well you can use that money toward mod money for when you get back? or, sell it... get a nice bike in italy, and when you get back, maybe a GTR? those 2 years of no payments and Z sell money can put in a nice deposit for one, and that'll be about a year since there out... which means even cheaper than what we've all been told.

Umm, why don't you use the free government storage? "VPC" I have my wife's Kia parked there for 3 years. They run the engine every couple of weeks, roll it back and forth to prevent the tires from going flat. They're ridiculously meticulous on the turn in inspection. And it's also insured for 25k. I use USAA insurance and pay no more than 50 beans a year. If I would've left it with family, it is a certainty I would get a ding or two.
I would take it to Italy. I've been stationed there, and loved it, I don't know about the "crazy" driving there. Sigonella is the shiznit, a lot of back roads to drive on.
BTW, BIG +1 on keeping it.
Good Luck

The last thing you want to do is take it to Sig.Just finish paying it off and have your parents take care of her. This way when you take leave, you have something to cruise.Plus when your done with Sig, you can sell it for a decent price for it will be a low milage vehicle.
There is only two reasons in my book to keep it.
1) its really modded
and
2) someone is going to take care of it while you are gone. Running the engine and moving the car around and doing all the stuff you need to do to a car that is not getting much street time.
Otherwise I would sell it, put the money in the bank for 3 years, and buy a newer one when you get back to the states.
