Thats on flat highway.

If anyone posts up photos I will throw you on the list

- 20 mile minimum from the point of reset (start) on the mpg gauge
- < 100 ft elevation change from start to finish
- you must have an average speed of 65mph or higher.
- must have photo proof
Official 30+mph List
format: user (year) mpg @ avg mph
  • davids (2006) 31.2 @ 67mph

Was that an average from a stand-still or did you reset it once you were on the highway? Over how many miles was this averaged?
Just want to see if I can do the same.

This was over 20 miles on the highway (flat), I reset it as soon as I got to my cruising speed.

Here's another to prove it wasn't just a spoof.

Yeah, I tested my '07 on a highway while it was breaking in (@ ~500 miles) to see what gas mileage it got. I stopped varying my speed and reset the computer really quick... unfortunately, I couldn't resist trying to pass someone. I managed to get 30 mpg even though I accelerated to pass someone! This car's fuel consumption is better than the sticker states, for sure.

I think anything above 35-36 = cheating or downhill roads.

One of my best:

This was after a 20 mile drive with mixed highway and city driving.

I don't doubt it at all under those circumstances. I averaged 28.6 over 18 gallons of gas and that included start to finish with the first 35 minutes in heavy traffic, almost stop and go at times.

If a challenge is started with your thread, some parameters should be set so everyone is dealing with the same thing. Say minimum of 20 miles, beginning elevation same or less than ending elevation, and I would say the start should be from a standstill so it's the same for all.

But, it's your thread DavidS. I don't want anyone calling me a green weenie.

I also see that 70mph yields the best mpg. Unfortunately, my best ever is 27mpg, so I'll work a bit more on it
