One Lap Z Keepin' The Tires Warm
Took this pic at BeaveRun this afternoon...Though you might enjoy this...nothing like a little ingenuity.

VQ yes there are
At Solo II nationals people wrap space blanket material around their cars similiar to that photo above to keep them warm, as "tire warmers" are illegal. There are also tire blankets, that set on each individual tire and keep them warm.

VQ, there are such a thing as tire warmers for cars. In fact, while watching Formula 1 or C.A.R.T. (i forget which one i was watching), they showed a shot of pit lane and one of the crews had heating blankets wrapped around the spares as the car was coming in. I believe you can see this done in LeMans as well, but im not sure since it was quite a while ago.

Yeah, F1 does indeed have tire warmers. I believe they're electric powered. I think most forms of racing do not allow them. I know they're not allowed in CART or the IRL....to this point, I only remember seeing them in F1 ;although, I think there are a few other series that allow them...
