I floor it everywhere, the cops can't keep up in the rain. I drift every corner, always on the E brake.

Just kidding, I generally turn my VDC back on, and drive a little slower than normal.

Very very gingerly. Be as smooth as you can be. Accelerate slowly, brake slowly. No sudden movements. Don't take corners faster than your car stick. If you don't know how well your car grips in the wet, you may take corners faster than you should.

If you are super smooth, even if you do slip, you should be teetering on the threshold of grip such that everything will be predictable and under control.

Just make sure you have your foot down on the gas as you do anything, turn, switch lanes, switch gears etc. You should always be redlining the car, ALWAYS. Power-shift through the gears. Dont ever let your foot off the throttle.

Nope... Students in Drivers Ed learn on a FWD vehicle. The Z is completely different.

I've seen 140mph in the rain in the Z before... no traffic and the road drained the water quickly..... this morning it was raining hard and there was a lot of standing water on this particular highway.. I did about 85mph the whole way to work... only felt the car start to hydroplane a few times but was expecting it because I know where the big puddles are.... base model... no tcs no vdc... no false security from an electronic device. I know I'm in control and driving the car. I don't push hard expecting some computer to save me in case I make an amateur mistake. I know the limits, and I like to flirt with them.

Anyone who says the Z sucks in the rain, must not be able to drive. The Z does just fine in the rain. If you have bad tires, you have to accommodate for that, the car isn't going to do it for you.

edit:typo

Exactly Roast, I used to live up in oregon, now I'm in AZ.
The only thing a Z cant do in the rain is launch from a stop.
As for drifting, its fun and wont blow tires out(as long as its wet out).
Very controllable in the wet for a RWD car.

When it rains I turn TCS on and don't push the car at all (which I do in my normal driving).

That's on public streets of course. Rain + empty parking lot is a different story....

Well, I was. Considering some of these dip****s total their cars at 35mph-45mph it has to make you wonder. In my case curiosity got the better of me. One day I was driving along in the rain thinking how well the Z does in the rain...and there was a long straight stretch with no cars in sight... visibility was good.... it had been raining for a while so it wasn't greasy and the road drained well... I just figured I would accelerate until my ***** ran out. Not a big deal really...

VDC on = √
Personal driving limitations = √
Car/tire limitations = √
Shear physics of oily/wet road = √

Let the big SUVs pass you all you want in wet conditions — it's the only time they get to!
