Default make me feel better

well in about 3 weeks ill be trafficing around 1.5 hours away from where im staying now
which includes a garage to park my car in
ill be on a college campus and i wont have anything to park my car under

now i figure i can find somewhere safe to park my car
but whats really bothering me is having to leave my car outside in the weather

how many of you guys have to leave your car outside in the elements?
if i had a car cover someone would more than likely steal it soooo
i figured i could probably find somewhere secluded on campus where theres not alot of car activity and people parking around me so i would have minimal chances of getting door'd

im such a car guy and i love my car so much i almost dred going for the worry of my car

I love my Z as much as anybody, but in the end, it's just a car...im going on 4.5 years of daily driven snow, sun, and rain and my Z is still fine and has only been garaged about half the time.

mines black and everyone knows how hard it is to keep clean
i just cant stand to look at it when its dirty *bows head an looks at ground*

i have a beater...86 chevvy blazer that i drive to work but thats only a 15 min commute
it isnt reliable enough to take very far away but i do plan to drive it for the first couple weeks depending on how long it takes me to find a good place to park

Sounds like a bit of retorical question to me. If you're that worried, better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

dude...I know how you feel. As much as I love driving our beautiful engineering work of art around to show off on college campus - who wouldn't? - I have restraint myself from driving to school with it in the past 7 months I have own the car. The only time I ever drive my car to school is when I'm driving and not parking for extended amount of time and parking in a garage. Trust me, it's a college campus and unless you can have a reserve garage space you're gonna get some door dings/scratches from the pos ppl drive around. That's why I take my beater to school. Period.

I have 1 noticeable door ding and it wasnt from parking at school. damn soccer moms guess it depends on the school.

i trust the beater enough to drive it down there and back at least one time
but extended long distance driving isnt an option with it

i think i have it planned out, like normal people there gonna try to get the closest possible to the dorm
well im not normal im a car nut
so im going to park at the furthest point on campus, around the tennis courts up on and elevated area above the football feild
i figure if someone on campus is athletic enough to play tennis they would walk or if they drove and they play tennis so maybe they have some common sense
and i can let a couple of the campus security guards know where i park an explain that its my baby and possibly give them my cell number
hopefully ill be ok

Hopefully you'll find the perfect parking area after a while. After a couple of months of parking regularly at work (and a few dings later), I discovered a "secret parking spot" that no one parks at. It's the most unlikely place for anyone to drive to, given the layout of all our buildings. Good luck

Edit: funny thing is, I notice that there's another Z there too!
