Default Fell in love with the track!

Went to see a touring today, and took a test run with the track model. I reallly like the look of the track model wheels and the Brembos are sweet. Initially I was thinking of getting the touring, but the wheels and brakes on the track model are good enough for me to consider it! I told the dealer I wanted the burnt orange leather, and they said they can get that installed for me....or order it........ I'm not sure of the cost though. As I look at it, the track model is a good value because I wouldnt have to buy aftermarket wheels that would cost me 2k+, and I dont want to even guess the cost of the Brembo's. The only thing that I dont like is the seats, but seems as if I can fix it (And I dont care for heated seats, have em on my CL, barely ever used them, power seats dont do anything for me either).

So I think this is what I'm aiming to get:

Track Model (Silverstone)
Options: Navigation & Leather seats.
I think I'm set.......

Silverstone with burnt orange? Interesting combo.

Did the dealer say anything about additional cost to add the leather?

He didnt give me any prices because I didnt have my CL with me....in order to negotiate the price with the trade. Do you guys think the orange interior would look wack with silverstone?

I can't really picture it on a silverstone. SS is dark enough that it could work, but it's not something that I would consider. I like the burnt orange on DB and SB though.

Isn't zeroday's Z a Silverstone/burnt orange Touring?

Come on now, you should know about his car, considering he's from the CL board!!

yeah 1000 for leather on track aint bad. its a nice combo, certainly cheaper than adding rims and brakes to the touring.

only thing I could say as a comment would be some get aftermarket rims because they want wider tires. the track has 245s. nothing wrong with that, just might be something that would matter to you, but you wouldnt think about.

Ares, can you get heated leather on the track? I'm assuming this all has to be special order?

Thanks.

no, cant get heated, or power, not without changing out the seat.

but there are various options for recovering the stock seats in leather. it looks nice too cause you can get 2 tone, and stuff sewn into it and all sortsa stuff.

otherwise you can get racing buckets, but those are typicly not cloth or leather, and cost a good bit more.

Thanks for the clarification. I wish Nissan's site would say something about leather availability on the Track. Last time I checked there was no mention of that.

Is the two tone an OEM thing as well? Do you have a link, I can't seem to find anything. Thanks again.

nope, not oem, I have touring, so I didnt get too far into it, but I see dealers selling leather as a aftermarket option from a company typicly in the area. but its through the dealer and a outside company, not through nissan from the factory.

if you ask about aftermarket leather options, Im sure lots of people will chime in with opinions, experience, and pictures.

It does. build a track model and leather isn't an option. It's only an option on the Touring.

I've been following on the same idea .... I've found that it's not a Nissan product at all but an aftermarket product through Nissan dealers, at least locally.

If you want to search for colors, etc., hunt for Katzkin (the one used by many dealers around here) or for Classic Soft Trim (there are folks here who think they have a better product: do a search for "accessory leather").

Cost is less if you arrange for it on your own through the local installers of the products: On the other hand, it's more convenient to roll it into the cost of the car and go through the dealer. The dealer told me that, depending on options, etc., it would be "less than $1200." I've seen two two-tone jobs (online) that the posters say came in at less than $800.

Hope this helps.

Geezer,

Yeah, some confusion, I realize that the leather is a dealer accessory from a local shop. Problem is, I don't think any places around here offer that. Ultimately, I would probably just pick up some aftermarket seats, or OEM ones if the price wasn't too outrageous (ha!).

I'd prefer OEM leather/power/heated.

A guy on this website was offering leather seats upgrade and said he could add a heater as an upgrade. The price for that upgrade was not too expensive either. Do a search....

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm getting a Z. Since the '04 is only a few months away, I might wait it out though.....
