Very nice , in Vegas the first 30 minutes when it starts raining is the worst. My slip light was on more than off , after that , i was fine.

I somehow managed to make it through without fishtailing or mysteriously losing control of the car and putting it into a ditch or concrete wall. I have a 2006 Z with Hotchkis springs / OEM shocks, 19"x9 front with 245/35/19 at ~31 psi, 19"x10 rear with 275/35/19 at ~33 psi Toyo T1R tires with about 7k miles on them.

Maybe I will get flamed for this post, but I figured the Z could use some good press since so many people have a tendency to lose control of them in heavy rain. Safe driving, folks.
You need to replace those Toyo's right away and get OEM Bridgestones 040's to help you get the performance your looking for.

What a loser: Lol !!!

Haha I knew it would **** some people off. And I am well aware that another member started a similar thread a while back....I even posted in it, I think. But if we get 5 threads per day about people wrecking these things, then I think we can stand to have 1 thread per few months about someone successfully driving in adverse weather conditions. I remember when I was just a prospective 350z owner and I used to look in this sub-forum (350z) for most of my general 350z knowledge and opinions. It would have been nice to see a thread like this once in a while.

I'm glad at least a few people found it entertaining : )

Seeing how I never lost control of my 240sx in the rain on the HWY, I don’t think I'll have problems controlling a Z

Seriously all these cocky guys talking about wrecking their cars like they're better than us. I don't granny shift and I always triple-clutch like I should (clutch-shift-clutch-shift-blipthrottle-ebrake-clutch-shift-gas), even making sure that I coast in neutral when cornering to reduce understeer. But I don't even get any tire chirps when shifting from 5th to 6th (btw the stock tires are too grippy in the rain). It's supposed to be windy today so I'm gonna try taking that exit near my home at 95 mph this time. Hopefully I'll get a 720 spin and land on my roof. The best thing would be to total it, so I can get the new limited edition Nismo Z. Or maybe the new GT-R!

There is some good that comes from the "I wrecked my Z" posts. It reminds some of us that we could be next if ways aren't changed and it gives insight into what causes these things which sometimes sound like aberrations.

When it rains, I'm always having the shyt scared out of me so I take my back-up vehicle:

Hey, that's not a bad idea! I used to get a gold star for pooping in the toilet, so why not?

I made it out of my garage today without a scratch.

It was scarry using reverse(makes the car go backwards such that you have to use mirrors to see). I passed by the 220 volt outlet for the welder without incident, creeped below the high tension garage door springs that could kill a person if unleashed, crossed the grate where water flows for run-off(same type of water people drown in), and ended up in my driveway unscathed.

Thanks Nissan for making a car so safe, but I'm sure my deft driving ability had something to do with it.
