I've been DDing my Z for much of this year and have no complaints except for it being much more difficult to keep clean.

Otherwise, gas (for me) is about $50 every week and a half. (SoCal Prices, too).

I commute about 90 miles everyday. The Z is a very good daily driver for me in comparison to my old 96' honda civic cx HB which had no power option. I do miss filling up in the civic though. I get an average of 23 mpg on the Z. I really can't complain I didn't get the car for the fuel efficiency.

I guess the question is: How expensive is premium gas in your neck of the woods?

Even if you're able to get 20+ mpg in the Z on the hwy, you'll still be paying more for driving the Z (which takes premium gas) vs., say, a Honda Civic (high 30's or even 40 mpg, and it can use 87 octane).

Hondas are also reliable. The last one I owned, I put over 250,000 miles on it over 13 years.

For your criteria (1.reliabiltiy, 2.ease of maintenance, 3.fuel economy), there are perhaps better choices other than the Z.

Don't get me wrong. I love my Z. But I didn't buy it with the above criteria in mind.

Sounds like you're a *****, and might use this car in the way someone would a Camry. Save yourself the hassle, and Buy the Toyota. I hear they come in Hybrid models, and the SE gives you a cool body kit. That way, you'll still have enough cred to pick up high school girls, and get great gas mileage on your daily commute. Win win!

I think you need a new screen name...unless you're paul walker? You have the right cars( supra and eclipse)

To the original poster, you wont have a problem with it. Considering you are used to a supra, it will feel about the same as far as the ride goes. The ONLY downside is the visability difference out the back window. The 350 has less side visibility than the mk4 and it makes the blind spots a little harder to check. Other than that, its a fun car to drive

i daily drive my Z for about 50 miles a day in traffic. Even in rain I haven't had problems with it. The only thing that gets kind of annoying with dd traffic is driving manual, but you get used to it. If it snows though, I'd reccommend another option....

Its honestly one of the easiest cars to drive daily, its powerband makes driving it extremely easy, theres torque everywhere. You never really have to down shift for power unless you're going 2 mph or want an instant burst of full power.

the Z is my only car so it is my DD. I have no problem w/ it, except for the snow and because i don't need to store a lot of stuff in my car.

I love it, personally. More so than my old 5th gen Maxima, and our FX35. I'm 6'1 and very comfortable in it. I love the power and the handling. I also don't have any trouble with blind spots - you just have to know how to adjust all of your mirrors to eliminate them.

I took my Z on a 4000 mile road trip (round trip) and it worked out just fine. We packed 4 bags and had 2 coolers in the cpace in front of the strut bar.

Easy to drive but not as easy to zip around in traffic as my daily. Too many blind spots for SOCAL traffic. But I drive it anyways.

The Z for daily driving? Sure, why not? Most of us on this website do use the Z as a daily driver. I couldn't see myself handling using another car and then wishing it was a Z instead, so, I didn't get a beater.

Well no ****.

That doesn't mean one doesn't like to take care of their ride.
