If You Had $4000.....
Ok, so Im selling my old car (not my Z) and Ive gotten a buyer whos gonna pay 5000....Im going to use a 1000 to pay bills, but the other 4 is up for grabs. Which mods should I do to my Z to get the most bang for buck?
O, btw, I want to install a TT, I need to upgrade my exhaust, need rims (the car is stock on the outside and in the engine bay)

I say don't waste the $4k and invest it into something that will appreciate and not depreciate. Put it into an IRA or use it to pay the car off if it isn't already.
Tossing $4k into mods, just because, is kinda silly if you ask me.
Don't get me wrong. I see how this is valued by some people. I'm not trying to demean the practice of modding. But seriously, think about it. Putting $4k into something that depreciates is almost as dumb as throwing $4k into the wind.
But, that's just me.

I'm just saying that I'd never drop $4k into anything that didn't yield a profit. That's all.

Secondly, if I sold the Z today, I would make $3-4k. You see, my ignorant friend, I am what they call a smart shopper.
The '03 Z I purchased was from an older guy that only drove it on the weekends. It had 17k miles on it and he only wanted what he owed on the car when he sold it to me.
So, I bought a pristine '03 Touring, all options, for $16k. At the time (last December) the car was worth around $20k KBB.
Now as the gap of what it's worth vs what I paid gets a little smaller, I have to decide whether to keep the car or sell it for a small profit.

but anyway, if youre ever going to want to TT your car, at least have $15,000 ready to go for kit and other stuff needed when you turbo your car to keep it safe. if you want to TT your car and build, have $20,000 ready to go.
my personal choice is PERFORMANCE over LOOKS but thats just preference. as much as you think it would, 4k is not going to go that far. if you buy a cat back exhaust system 1k is already spent. if you want nice rims with whats left, youll have to find a used set. i found a nice set for 2250 shipped BUT i also had to ship my stock rims to him (otherwise i wouldve paid 2700 shipped). and if you do that, youre money is already gone.
so in conclusion, youre going to have to decide if you want to go for looks (pick 2 of 3: kit, rims, lowered), or performance (intake/pop charger, exhaust, plenum spacer, headwork, test pipes, pullies, etc.)
just my thoughts..
-> oh and im talking as if youre doing it right and getting good quality name brand stuff. if you get ****ty/generic parts and dont do it right, you might as well not do it at all. thats just how i am with it - go big, or go home.

lol@ignorant. STFU you toolbag. I wasnt trying to be rude, but merely trying to get your perspective on the subject at hand.
I also find it funny that your first rebuttal was that of grammar. Too funny.

Sorry it ruffled your feathers.
