15% driveline loss is the norm.

320 flywheel horsepower equal 272 rear wheel horsepower
325 flywheel horspower equal 276.25 rear wheel horsepower
330 = 280.50

See how that works.

20% is the norm for AWD. RWD is typically around 15-17%

Some of you are forgetting that the 03's were significantly lighter than the 05+

Back then, the 03 base coupes weighed at around 3200 lbs flat (3198 lbs to be exact).

Now, the base 06+ coupes weigh in at 3336 lbs. 06-07 Touring & GT's weight even more (3404 lbs).

Either way, im sure the 2007 350Z's are significantly faster. But as far as feel, I think the lighter 03 base coupes might have a different feel than the heavier 07's as far as lower RPM power.

07 Z's are faster; but 200lbs in weight difference can fool the mind.

This is why I held out for an '07 with no miles on it. Test drives sheesh! How can you make a reasonable conclusion romping on a brand new Z with 20 miles on it? The break-in recommendation is there for a reason.

+1, you would be damned to get 30whp from all the N/A mods combined.

Thats just not true.

A member ACTUALY weighed his 07 Z WITH 19" I-FORGE WHEELS and it weighed 32XX lbs. Subtract the wheels and you have a car that weighes around what the 03 does but with 30+ more horsepower. Trust me, i know that it "may" not have "felt" faster but it really is.

Of course not. I just tried to give myself the best possible chance.
We all know that some people beat the $hit out of a brand-new car on a test drive that they have no intention of buying. I like this car so far. I may keep it awhile.

well good for you.. lol.. and its more like most rather then some.. to be truly honest i dont mind the "test pilots" but if i had just one dollar for every TARD that thought he could out drive the car he's doing a demo in id be very rich!!!

Customer: Yeah i drive really well, i know what im doing..

Car (M5 for instance): WTF??? GTFO!!!!

Me: Just another loser who just got

I wasnt the salesmen but a guy i know had a customer flip an older body M3 upside down.. Took the traction off in the wett.. rain over some rail way track and the rest is history.. .

based on this, is it not recommended to buy a used SPORTS car? i mean i know that alot of people arent gonna follow the "break-in" recommendation. On the other hand, as soon as I drive that brand new 07 off the lot, ill lose $3-4k.

Yeah, that's true. That's why I never would have bought my s2000 used. I think the Z is a stronger car all around and it can probably take more abuse. The flip side is that people who own these cars tend to take care of them, but it's always a crap shoot. It's all a game, but an expensive game. I just try to do whatever I can to not get screwed too much!

ok yea, i guess the only way to tell if its been demo'd is to look at the miles on it? or maybe ask the stealer, but he can always lie to you... kiwi how did you know your car was not a demo???
