i get a grind occasionally when i am ripping through first to second gear, its kinda as if the synchros arent fast enough to catch up with my shift. all i know is i dont like that feeling and i try to avoid it if possible. i know i shift fast, but i wanna know how you guys at the track avoid the same thing. this car only has 14oo miles on it so far???

if u have the slightest idea of how a manual car works... u'd know u let off the clutch too fast... that's why the gears grind cause they're not completely engaged... think of a clock with two gears... and u spin one too fast the other gear couldnt catch up and slip.

however, if the gears are pressed together... u greatly reduce the chance of slippage.... so it's not that u are shifting too fast... it's ur shifting incorrectly

haha, sry bout the title and stealing ur name... i use this name on tristatetuners too so i just used it here too... i never had a grinding issue going into 2nd but ive accidentally ground 3rd 2 or 3 times. i took my car to the dealer cuz of the loud throwout assembly and they put a new bearing and release assembly in for free but it turns out it is supposed to make that humming noise apparently.

You're shifting too fast. Plain and simple. Solution? Don't shift so fast.
