Sorry for the delayed response. Just getting a chance now to feed my 350Z habit after a really long day without internet access. Thanks for going easy on me and I'm "glad" I'm not the only one on this board to have this happen to them. Great stories!!! 
As far as the "chrome grill" mod, I used the 46" straight pieces called "Truck Door Edge Molding" which seemed just a little more rigid than the roll of molding. It was $5.99 per package and since there are three "edges" you will need 2 packages. I'll use a hot glue gun if the strips start to come off, assuming I keep them (still debating). BTW, thanks for the opinions!
In regards to the muffler, after reading the expert opinions and concern of my fellow board members, I will be ordering the Borla exhaust tomorrow! Hopefully I will not be overcome with CO poisoning before it arrives. If I stop posting messages, assume the worst.
And finally, I thought I would include a picture of the ramp I built out of salvaged pressure treated 2 X 10s (total cost was $20!). I can't use my regular ramps or my hydraulic jack as the car has been lowered (Eibach Pro Kit). The first level is 6 feet and it decreases 1 foot each level. After I took this picture I did insert a brick behind each tire just to be safe (so much for that plan!). BTW, the car was not on the ramp when it decided to take off.

Blaming the car eh. This might have been avoided if you hadn't put so much stereo equipment behind the seats. To much weight in the rear pulling it down the hill.
Similarly, I was sitting in my Z in neutral w/o the ebrake on, looked out the window at my van and wondered why it's rolling down the drive without anyone in it. Very strange. Suddenly realized I'm rolling and the van is still. Slammed on the brake and didn't hit anything but half out in the street. Relativity. I've been real careful about leaving it in gear with the ebrake on ever since.
Glad to hear the Z and you can laugh about it. Will wait to hear how you deal with the exhaust problem. I'm sure it won't pass state inspection now and is probably seriously polluting the Commonwealth. Could've been the Celtics problem.

Bill (and everyone else in the Northeast), hopefully you'll make it to Victor's meet (July 12th) in CT. If all of the people that showed up at the NJ meet and all of the people from the NH meet, as well as everyone else in the surrounding states that couldn't make it before, show up at this one, it should be huge!

since we are on the topic of not puttin the brake on heres mine
so im in high school with a 92 camry(nothin special) auto..
i get in my car as does everyone else to leave, but of course theres always people outside just chillin and talkin, u know, cool high school stuff...
so i get in my car start it, put in drive, then my friend opens the door and slaps me on the face real quick and closes the door.. well im like"yay play time" and get out and go after him...
thats when i see him go "NIMA YOUR CAR!!" i turn around, and to my horro, my car is movin all by itself to the car ahead of it parked.. there was also some little freshman walkin buy who almost got hit but dodged out of the way, to be honest, it made me chuckle lol..
the whole time, i was just sittin there, couldnt do anything, just frozen, as was the entire parking lot, until..
BAM!!! hits my friends ford focus, which in turn, hits my OTHER friends corsica..
we look at damages, nothin!
man i had everyone laughin at me for awile...
even the teachers made fun of me ! lol

can u still put the grill license plate on it with the chrome strip on? or even the bumper attached license plate?

so whatre we saying here? E Brake releases itself? Pleez, not another problem with the z! That one could make your life quite a bit harder if it rolls in a area wtih people!

Living through the experience won't qualify you for The Darwin Award.
I'm sure you now realize that setting the brake, putting the car in gear and putting chocks behind the wheels should be routine actions when performing any kind of work in the future.
Glad to see that no one was hurt and your car survived!

I am surprized that this does not happen with more Z owners. My '05 enthusiast had the same issue with the e brake. I yanked it to what I presumed was the correct height, and yet when I opened the door the get out the Z slowly started to creep down the driveway. Went to the dealer, who advised: " Oh, yeah you really have to yank on the ebrake. We seen this alot, have a nice day. WTF?" You basically need to be like Paul Bunyun and pull on the lever like your going to rip it right out. I also leave the shift in gear now too. Only problem is is that if you forget you left it in gear and start the engine and pop the clutch without realizing it then you will lurch and stall out. Kind of embarrassing but better that having the vehicle roll down hill.
