Z 9th most expensive to insure
my 2007 350Z is 100 dollars cheaper every 6 months compared to my 2004 Mazda 6S. Don't ask me how but i was shocked i asked the insurance lady to run the quote one more time.
also, pftt...and who said 4 doors were cheaper. lol(ie the Evo and Srt4)

I'm 26 and pay $65/mon through Geico..I will get even more discount once I become an 'officer' next year. But I think I will have #1 most expensive insured car by then..wonder how much I would have to pay.

My Z runs about 500 every 6 months. I also have my Matrix on the same policy at like 440 evry 6 months. Ive been with USAA for like 12 years though, and this is the first time Ive had 2 cars at the same time.
I cant stop craking up at the EVO being #1, dangerous? maybe....? also if u had owned 2 cars on the list and u wrecked one, and your 2nd car is lower(of course following the order of the list) your rates will still go up...
I'm guessing these cars are more to insure because most of these cars are driven by younger drivers. And most young people do pay higher rates which causes the whole average to go up. I pay $70 a month with State Farm because I'm 25 and have a clean record.
Here are some interesting statistics from the site http://insurancenews.getcoveredusa.c...at_age_25.aspx
It'd be interesting to see a graph of the age of Z drivers and the amount of their insurance per month. I am thinking it would be a smooth downward slope as the age passes 25. Another good one would be the age of Z drivers who totaled their cars.
- Male Drivers have a 77% higher risk of dying in a car accident based on miles driven
- Cautious 82 year old women have a 60% higher death rate on the highway than 16 year old boys
- The safest passenger is a child buckled in a car seat during rush hour
- Males between 16-23 have a 4x higher fatality rate than average
- The lowest risk of dying in an automobile is in the 40 and 50 year old age bracket
- Graduated Drivers Licenses or also GDL's for drivers between 16 and 18 have so far shown a 20% decrease in casualties on the road.
- Fatal crashes are twice as likely for a 16 year old driver with multiple teen passengers then an alcohol-impaired driver
- A driver talking on a cell phone is more likely to have a crash than an alcohol-impaired driver

I pay $156 and I have a perfect record and I'm 33. No matter where I check it's high as hell. But where you live has to be counted, as well as a multi car discount and home insurance through the same company. And what kind of deductables do you have. I have damn near no deductables and no home or multi car through them. sucks.

Location has alot to do with it too. I've heard that Harris County (Houston, TX) is one of the worst counties in the US as far as insurance. Mine is like $260 a month, I have a couple of speeding tickets and a wreck that was my fault on my record. (Speeding tickets were out of town, or I would have fought em
) I'm 24.

Location must have a whole lot more to do with it than I think. Some of these quotes from the 20 something drivers seem crazy cheap.
I'm 30, married, '05 Z and '07 Escalade, about $170 per month through Allstate. Before we bought the Caddy, the Z was by itself for about $90 per month (if I remember correctly). I have a clean record but live in the suburbs of DC (or more like the exurbs).

I too live right outside DC, am 26, 1 speeding ticket, and with Allstate should be paying around $120 a month for full coverage. The ticket will drop off soon though, so that number will be changing
I am just happy to be out of the 16-24 age bracket. Back in 03 when I had the Z, my insurance was $245 a month!

I can see the RSX being more expensive because it is a luxury car and the paint is really hard to color match compared to the painting on the Z. I payed $136 a month on my Z through state farm, but its worth every penny because they fixed my car with the quickness (1 week, $3000 damage) when I ran over a ladder. My GF's RSX was in the shop for a month for a tailgate puncture from a moving truck in her door through progressive (Took a week for the claims adjuster, a week to fix it and two more weeks for the shop to get a check). I guess paying for insurance is a rip-off no matter how you look at it.

for you people that live out in the sticks and have this rediculous low insurance payment....
$184 a month with state farm. 1 more year before i get the 25 year old discount. (price drops in half and the policy becomes non cancelable)
