Awesome, now I know that when I get a Z the insurance will be cheaper or on PAR with the SRT-4 (being a former SRT owner).
I thought it would be more expensive due to the RWD, 2 door sports car.

when it comes to insurance, you get what you pay for. I pay 140/month for my Z & my 03 maxima. I'm 21. But i have 1000 deductibles on my Z and Liability only for the max.

im an insurance broker, and its crazy to see what some people pay for car insurance ! esp. if there with a big name company that makes you pay for their name ( people think if they have statefarm, farmers, allstate, etc. their claim will get paid) but there is nothing better about them as long as the company is admitted in california they all have to follow the same rules for paying claims etc.

also, i don't like this list/data one bit. it should be renamed "most likely to have an insurance claim due to the fact that these vehicles sell more by volume, and are driven in a risky manner"
i mean really, there are cars like the ferrari enzo out there. the cost to insure that is way more than the Z, or 95 percent more than most sports cars out there, it's just that barely anyone has them. you think ferrari owners are keeping it under 55? lol.

Insurance companies rate people on driving record, location(zip), Credit history, and of coarse the coverage amts, everyone is different!!
So unless your posting what limits you have on your policy, zip code, credit history, and so on, there is really no need to post the price of your insurance, unless you want to rub it in people's faces.

Perhaps you guys should base it on my hair color too? In fact im going to call my broker right now and let him know one nut hangs lower than the other.. See if theres a discount for that.

well its not so much "credit" history as it is a consumer report. But yes they can use that in determining if your risk is eligible. The thing that alot of people forget is the insurance company is taking a risk by insuring you. The car is often the least in determining your cost. The important ones are : age, zip code, driving history, married or single, past claims, covetage .It sucks but thats why im a broker instead of an agent

23 Male, clean record. Not married. 1500 a year for full coverage on my 2007 Z. Added a 85 sentra (daily driver now) for only 400 a year and the Z droped to 1100 a year. Still paying my 1500 a year, but for two cars now.

19, M, no accidents, clean driving record, 2 driver courses, good GPA, and I pay $230 a month through state farm. I need better options. Anyone have any ideas ? I'm on my parents' policy, but if there's any way I can get cheaper insurance by switching policies, I will in a heartbeat. I've been insured and driving for 2 and a half years now.
Help?
*edit* Forgot...I only put about 30 miles a week on my car; I drive a Toyota Camry during the week, so the Z is a weekend car. I take it to a mall, bring it home, and put it in the garage for the week.

I am single with State Farm -- just turned 26 yesterday -- and paying about $125 a month
only had ONE claimed in 2006 for a totaled loss on my RSX. State Farm had to paid about $23K. Been with State Farm since I was 16.
State Farm didn't raise my insurance at all -- guess it was my first "my bad"

The Z did NOT start out as a high risk vehicle. Thanks to all the parents who bought their teenagers Z's who then promptly went out racing in them causing lots of injuries and deaths the car was reclassified. When I got mine it was $820 a year full coverage (in NJ). It has gone down since then but not as much as it would have. It's not the primary vehicle, the mercedes is and that was more to insure as the primary vehicle.
