When I got the Z33 back in Aug 03 I started waving and flashing the high beams twice but lately every Z owner here in Houston is being a little rude(mostly women Z owners don't wave back)

ha, most? i have never had a women/girl wave at me. most of the guys do in this area, but some are obviously not car entusiasts. Funny thing, the only "group" that has always waved and smiled are the older gentlemen.

I have driven several different Z models and it is my experience that Z drivers wave at other Z drivers. I hav had a girl in a 350 wave at me. She also tried to race but I left her in the dust. Must have been stock.

I wave and/or flash the lights, and get acknowledged probably 90% of the time. However, Z's are more rare up here in Ottawa.

Wave? I've had THREE different Z's not only NOT wave, but just accelerate past me like SWOOOOOSH. I've had the car 3 weeks. Don't understand it. Like I am going to race another Z just because...

this thread kind of amuses me! I see a few posts about Z32 owners not waving back, and then I think back to all the posts on tt.net and 300ZXClub.com about how the Z32 owners wave at the Z33 owners and never get responses. In fact, I can vouch for never getting responses. I wave at every Z, and rarely get a response from the Z33 owners.

Now, understand that this isn't saying anything about yout guys. If you look at the number of 350Z's on the streets and then look at the number of members on this site, you'll realize that there really are a lot of 350Z owners who know nothing of the herritage or the society (read: cult), so I don't blame them.

So, in conclusion, I wave at all Z's, and the Z33's that know the Z car herritage wave back (but a lot of them don't know it).

I'm sure in the early 90's, the Z31 owners and Z32 owners had similar reactions to each other, but it'll pass.

I got my Z33 soon they were just released down here (and there was a 6 month waiting list, I managed to snare a good deal for a showroom model).

When I first drive it, there weren't too many so you got the enthusiasts who would give each other a wave. Some times I'd initiate, other times people would wave at me.

Now that more have come in, and every boulevarde cruiser has one, its rare that I'll get acknowledgement on the street.

Its almost a shame that the car's gone "mainstream" like that. As a performance car enthusiast, I've pulled up at lights next to people driving exotic fast cars (like TVRs, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc) and either given them a thumbs up (which they've returned) or had conversations with them just because of the cars. You don't see guys in more production sports cars (like BMWs and our domestics) being so polite about it.

What are you talking about? I've waved and gotten a wave back from several 350Z owners and a first gen 300ZX owner in Orlando. I've never gotten a wave from a 2nd gen 300ZX though.

Default Save the flash

So, none of you have read twinturbo.net or any of the other Z boards?

People driving older Z cars love it when you wave. The standing assumption is that the newer/more expensive Z, the less likely the person is going to wave or flash.

Anyway, I saw the banner here all over the place when I had a 300ZX.

And since I don't know anything about html, can this thing be used in my signature?

I've gotten a few waves from some fellow Zed drivers here in Toronto. But only 2 comments from strangers who were both older gentlemen.....1 from a man walking by my house while I was washing her...who asked, "thats gorgeous is that a new porsche?" That made me feel good.

The other comment was from another older gentleman who was driving beside me with his wife....he screemed out, "wow...did you win the lottery?"...where I replied..."no just pretending that I won."

Needless to say, this car has made me a little poor!! But I love it.

In the Atlanta Metro area its common to get a wave, or flash of headlights. I would say its about 85% of guys driving and 50% of women.

I usually flick my headlights.

I try to wave at all gen Zs and G35Cs and I try to acknowledge as many as I can. Sometimes I miss a few but it is not because I didn't want to. When I first got my Z I used to get waves from almost all the 350Zs. I get about 20-25% to wave now. It's still a good feeling when they wave.

I wave whenever I have a free hand but man most of the time I dont get a wave back. I remember this one guy severely pimping his car to the point where his head was almost coming out of the bottom corrner of the window, it had to been automatic becuase I just cant see somebody drive a sports car like that. He did not want to turn his head and say whats up even tho I could see his eyes roll to the side knowing I was right there? And we were the only two cars within half a mile radius during the DAY on interstate 395! 27+ age group usually return my wave

Hey you live not too far from me so if I see you I will wave.
Im trying to stick my hand and arm completely out the window to see if I get more responses. So far its a little bit better than just waving from inside. The next time Im down that way I will look for you.

My ex has a Vette and I thought it was the cool that they all wave at each other.

Without thinking about it I've always waved at every Z that I see and usually get a wave back.

I wave, but most of the people I see driving Z's around here are older and usually dont wave back. I'm used to doing that stuff though because I occaisionally drive my sisters wrangler and those people always wave to each other.

Today I got a wave from a 300zx for the first time, I was kinda shocked.
Also a SB roadster drove by when I was getting out of mine at work so I waved and said nice car. He smiled, waved, and said you too.

I always do the wave when I see another Z. Got used to waving on the Harley, those people know the wave routine! Most people usually wave in NM, course we don't have too many Zs. In CA on vacation and seeing a few 350Zs and everyone has waved. I don't care if people don't I staying friendly!
