As a previous Vette owner... we wave as we pass another Vette. That being said, since I got my Z I've yet to wave to another Z nor has another Z waved to me, Until today... I waved to another 350z (out of old habit to the Vette) and did not get one in return... no biggie, just curious

Do you wave?

 

I wave depending on if they are staring. I have yet to experience an enthusiast reaction from a female Z driver. I have waved to and received waves back from quite a few guys driving a 350Z.

One time (not at band camp) I was passing another 350Z on the other side of the road and noticed that the couple had their attention towards me, so I waved at them and noticed the man turn to his passenger in excitement after waving back to me.

The wave always makes me feel good about owning a Z and it kind of ties the local Z community a little closer - IMO.

 

I've gotten mixed responses. But for the most part, people do not normally wave back, they just stare at me. haha

 

i usually wave when i pass another Z. not a huge lame *** cheeze wave, just raise my hand of the steering wheel enough to acknowledge the other driver. for the most part i get a wave back. the ones that usually dont wave back are older men. dunno why.

 

I too am a former Vette owner. While when I was a Vette owner we all wave to each other no matter what year or model we had.

With the 350Z I try to wave when I see another 350Z, but I don't wave too much to the 70-96 model too much, because I don't see many of them. As for if they wave back at least half of them do but not too willingly either. I don't think the Z wave is as stronge as the Corvettes, bikers, or Jeeps are yet.

 

I usually do the same as mdacko - a lifting of the hand to acknowledge them. I have yet to have a woman wave back though. Most guys do although the other day I pulled up next to an 05 Silverstone (didn't even have plates yet) and that guy just stared me down....almost angrily.

 

I find younger Z drivers either wave or give a nod. I`ve even got waves from people who drives G`s that seem to be more "car enthusiast" types. Older drivers not that much.
I don`t think a lot of Z drivers really know much about the whole Z heritage and simply drive it because it`s a cool looking car, which is fine. I don`t even think a lot of G drivers realize the two are practically the same car.
There is one girl that always waves when I see her; She drives a Z roadster and has had it painted pink. I`ve been trying to get a pic of it to post here, but I always see her last second.

 

I flash my lights or wave/nod to all generation Z cars. Sometimes they wave/flash me back, sometimes they don't. I'll keep doing it as long as I drive a Z.

I wave 90% of the time. Usually get one back. Except from chicks. They just stare ahead like you aren't there.

 

I'll flash the headlights and/or wave. I usually get a wave back and a smile. A while back there were 3 silver Z's all in a 4 way intersection at the same time; I was turning left, one guy was turning left from the other direction, and a the third Z came rolling stright through... we all noticed each other and started waving...

 

I wave but seldom get one in return. Snobby Zzzzzzzzz owners!!

I give either the wave or the headlight flash to all Z's I encounter...Z's aren't very common where I'm at, so I almost always get a reply.

 

I was once driving in bear mountain NY (BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!!) and an older z (im not sure which one) drove past me and the guy inside was obviously a huge z lover because he slowed down, honked and waved at me. His Z was absolutly stunning and it was really cool to get a wave from him.

So I had my Z for about 2 weeks now and I've realized that every now and then another person driving a Z will wave to me or flash their lights at me etc. My Dad has an old Jeep Wrangler I used to drive around sometimes back in highschool and almost every other person driving a Jeep Wrangler (not a Samurai/Geo Tracker) will wave back to you. Its known as the "Jeep wave". I guess what I'm asking is if I just havent been filled in on the "Z wave". I'd hate to be the ******* that dosent wave back but I'd also hate to be the idiot waving for no reason. Anybody have some input?
