Mabye you let the clutch off to slow /shrug. I drive an AT and I can get em to spin most of the time.

"brake stand" = ?

If it's something like a burnout before a drag race, then you wont be able to do one without pulling the brake light fuse.

I can't spin the tires either. Too much traction, for some reason.

I think he is talking about preloading the drive train for best 1/4 mile times, pretty standard technique for drag racing with an AT. I would not describe it as gunning the engine, but rather holding the car in place with the brake while maintaining an elevated RPM with the gas pedal preloading the drive train, followed by releasing the brake and stomping on the gas pedal on go. The object to adjust the RPM before launch to get a little chirp off the line, not spinning the tires going no where.

Stepping on the brake and gas at the same time can confuse some cars forcing the car into safety mode thus the post about taking out the brake fuse so the car does not know that you are braking and hitting the gas at the same time. You can mod the Z AT with a high stall torque converter to allow more RPMs at launch.

If you are on the brakes, throttle is cut regardless of model (with or without TCS or VDC).

As alluded to above, if you pull the brake light fuse, the ECU will not pull power, and you can spin them all you like. Keep in mind, your brake lights wont work either.

Stock 18s. =(

It's a good thing, I'm sure - more traction = faster track times. But dammit, I wanna' burn a little. They do spin nice when turning, though. =P
